Visited several facilities before selecting Lakeview. While the facilities are outstanding, what made the difference was the depth of the support staff as well as their care and professional approach to their responsibilities.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch had a lot of carpeting everywhere. I'm in a wheelchair so that's difficult for me and it had a dark look to it overall. We did not like the rooms and we would have been on the second or third floor. So, if we wanted to take our dog out, we would have to go down the elevator with the dog in my lap in the wheelchair and then bring the dog back up. They have a swimming pool, but it wasn't nearly deep enough. Other than that, the staff was very nice, affable, pleasant, and easy to talk with. They have reserved parking, meals, and storage available for you.

The best parking is at Lakeview at Josey Ranch, and it's free. They had an outstanding dining room, and it was like eating in a restaurant. They had three specials each day that you could choose from, or you could eat from the menu. They had a salad bar. It was really at the top of my list. They have indoor parking and a swimming pool, and they have the most beautiful lake on the outside that you can walk around to get your exercise. It has a trail around it, and they also have a bicycle trail around it. The apartment has a small kitchen, but it has a full refrigerator, a full stove, nice wood cabinets, and nice, very, very clean wood floors. You can choose wood floors or carpet in your apartment. It has modern bathrooms. They have wide halls, and on each floor they have a place to gather and sit. If you're on the fourth floor on the West side, you can park over there on that side. If you're on the East side, you park over there on that side. There are elevators for the East side and elevators for the West side. You don't have to go down the floor, so it was very convenient to get to your car. The staff member was very cool and calm, very friendly, very accommodating, asked questions, and took notes about what I needed, what I was looking for, what kind of price range I was looking for, let me know what was in the neighborhood, where the pharmacies were, where the other places to eat or shop were, and things like that. She was a professional. She's been in this business for 20 years. I had lunch there. They have three chefs there onsite. The food is always freshly cooked. They have a big breakfast and then they have a big lunch, and the dining room is set up like a restaurant. It's not long tables like in the cafeteria. They are individual tables with tablecloths. They have a salad bar and you order from the menu. They have things like salmon, chicken, and omelets, and they're all freshly cooked.

My mother has moved into Lakeview at Josey Ranch. They have real friendly staff. It's in Carrollton, and that's exactly where my mother wanted to move back to. She lives about 80 miles South of here, so we liked the location, the friendly staff, and the price being real comparable to other places that we looked at. Her apartment faces a lake, so she's been able to see out; she has such a nice view. The food there is very good. They have a calendar of events, which is real appealing to her. It's very well kept, and they have a trash pickup every day. The dining room where she goes to eat and is very clean, and they always have people walk around dusting things off. She has really enjoyed it, and she thinks long term that she'll be happy there.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch was a beautiful facility. They have an excellent food, a pool, and a lot of activities. They just don't have assisted living and memory care, and I didn't want to go into a facility where if I needed skilled living, I would have to completely move to another facility that I'm not familiar with. I love the fireplaces that they have in the hallway though, and the nice overstuffed chairs that you could sit on and maybe read. They give residents a GPS or something when they want to go for a walk around the paths that are outside. That way if something were to happen, they would know right where they are; I thought that was good. The staff was wonderful and very informative while taking you around to several different types of apartments, and they're the only ones I know that had a three-bedroom apartment in addition to one and two-bedrooms. They had several people from the staff who came and talked about what services they offer, and they all have beauty shops and barber shops and things like that. The staff really did a good job.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch is a wonderful place to be, but the cost is a little high. The staff is wonderful, the food is very good, and the two-bedroom apartment is very, very nice. We have a view of the lake, there's a pool, a salon, game rooms, and they have an exercise room. I like the staff, they're really great.

I liked Lakeview at Josey Ranch very much. It had all the amenities I was looking for like covered parking, gated facility and meals. The staff who toured me around was very accommodating and helpful, and she also introduced me to one of the ambassadors at the facility which I liked. The dining area was very clean, open, and spacious, and it had an extremely nice view of the lake. The food was extremely good. It was my top pick of all the places that I looked at.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch is a very nice place. We like it a lot. The staff is fabulous, and food is is outstanding. They also have all the great activities. The apartment we looked at was 1-bedroom, which was very nicely appointed. It had a full kitchen, which was very nice too. Lakeview at Josey Ranch is independent living. You can get outside services to come in and they'll help you do that. However, we thought my sister needed another step-up in care. Otherwise, she probably would have gone to this place.

My husband liked Lakeview at Josey Ranch more than any other place. He liked the lake, the water, the decor, the food, and the staff, and I was on board with all of it except one or two things. Most of the food is really well-prepared and there's a nice variety. If you don't get enough, you can ask for more. If you don't like it, you send it back and they'll bring you something else. Everybody on staff that I've have had anything to do with has been very helpful, gracious, and accommodating. They want you to be happy. I would like them to do a little painting and also change out the tired decor. I'm very pleased with the price. They tailor the program for each resident. We got a balcony and underground parking. They have a doctor who comes once a week and you can make appointments with them. They have breakfast and one other meal, either lunch or dinner. They have laundry rooms and they're free to use.

My mother used to live at Lakeview at Josey Ranch and wasn’t really happy with the place. The room was too far away from the dining room, and they only serve 1 meal a day, instead of 3. Breakfast and supper were basically your responsibility, and they serve lunch. The apartments were nice little 1 or 2-bedroom apartments.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch was totally independent living and very nice. The staff member was top notch, but he wasn't the person I was supposed to meet with. This man stepped in and did a very good job. We went to the dining room, the front room areas and then the apartments. I'm familiar with this place because of the outside of the complex has beautiful surroundings. There were people in the workout room working and a lot of socialization going on in some of the front rooms. It was like a very nice hotel.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch was really nice also, and I just had lunch there, but it was too expensive. The staff was OK, but it was a little cold as far as the residents. I visited at lunch hour, so everybody was at lunch. The personnel were OK, and I don't think it had to do with the personnel; it was the residents. It was a little dark and was a little bit hard to find at first, but once you found it, it was OK.

I'm at Lakeview at Josey Ranch. Their location is more convenient to me. I think this facility does a good job of keeping their apartments very good. The kitchen staff is good and their food is good and that's the main thing. This is a senior living facility and we do not have assisted living here. My apartment is the smallest one-bedroom, but it is not too small for one person, so it is okay.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch was a wonderful place. Location wise, it's close to shopping strips. However, it was not an assisted living facility. My father has Parkinson's, so he really need more than what they could offer. Also because it was a very large facility, my parents didn't want to be in that place. They were afraid that people wouldn't even know their names. As a whole, I would recommend this place but not for assisted living. It was just a retirement community.

Lakeview at Josey Ranch was attractive, clean, modern and new. However, we wanted a facility that was located in Dallas. They had fewer large apartments compared to others, and I thought they offered not as much activities as the other facilities.

The people treated us real nice at Lakeview at Josey Ranch. They showed us the place and we ate supper with them, which was really good. They had a salad bar, it's pretty nice. They let us order off of a menu. But the facility is about a 100 yards from a railroad track, crossing a major road. So when they would blow the whistle you could hear it everywhere in the building. I didn't want to live next to a railroad track.
