I visited this facility

These people are NOT INTERESTED in helping you or your loved ones. Extremely rude and unhelpful staff, upon the very first call! Refuse to take my grandfather with dementia because he has other health problems DESPITE the fact that they spoke directly with his doctor who reassured them it wouldn’t be an issue. Judging by the low rating, we’re not the only ones who have experienced this kind of thing with Allenbroook. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HERE, THEY DO NOT CARE.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has lived here for over a year. For a long time things were good, then the staff were constantly changing. They've always been rude and non existent. As long as mom received good care I over looked it. Things changed. Her regular nurse is either not there or absent. The new attendant is cold, lazy and shouldn't be caring for anyone. This week hit rock bottom. She has her food shoveled down her. The necessary water consumption is not being done. She is dirty and unhappy. She smiled all the time but now she is wincing and distraught. She was taken to her room today to be 'changed'. When she came back to the lobby she smelled of body waste worse. Then I noticed powder all over her. This lazy woman tried to mask the odor with powder. My mom was freezing, had dirty sock and the blanket was off her bed even though we have provided 10+ lap blankets. She was unhappy and on the verge of tears. Someone needs to be fired immediately!. Looking elsewhere.

I visited this facility

This place is the absolute worst. Saw my mother on Friday and she was dirty - whole room smelled liked urine and vomit. I physically killed two spiders crawling on the wall. Her mouth was also dry and dirty. I called for an attendant to come and clean her. She also looked like she was in pain, but can't communicate. She was rushed to the hospital on Saturday with a urinary tract infection, dehydration, and pneumonia. How do the nurses and doctors not catch these symptoms - they just don't care.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My Mother has been a resident of this facility for well over a year and the Staff and Management are the most caring and courteous people anyone could ever meet. They are conscience of the patients needs that I have seen and extend excellent care to my Mother. They call to notify me and my wife for everything related to her and her care and keep us fully update with any Doctor proposed medicine changes or even if she has the slightest changes to her condition. We are proud that she receives the level of caring the Staff provides, and know of no reason why these other posts have been made. Everytime we go to visit we speak with other resident patients and they all seem happy and content. Thank You to the Mgmt and Staff at Allenbrook Healthcare Center!

I visited this facility

She just stayed at Allenbrook for one week only because she had an accident. She broke her hip while she was there, so we then moved her to another one. The staff in Allenbrook is overwhelmed, they can't watch my grandmother properly. They have too many patients. It's completely horrible. They are understaffed but very caring. The building is too old, and they need to remodel. I don't blame the staff there but the management should be responsible to hire more staff.

MY MOTHER WAS A RESIDENT AT THIS FACILITY FOR 7 MONTHS. THE FLOOR IN HER BATHROOM WAS SO STICKY MY SHOES STUCK TO IT. SHE GOT A BLADDER INFECTION AND NOTHING WAS DONE UNTIL HER SKIN TURNED YELLOW AND IT WAS TOO LATE FOR HER TO BE HELPED. SHE GOT SEPSIS INFECTION AND IT SHUT DOWN HER ORGANS AND SHE DIED. SHE WAS SO DEHIDRED THE HAD TO PUMP 5 BAGS OF SOLUTION INTO HER TO REHIDRATE HER. WHEN I WOULD GO TO VISIT HER I ENDED UP MAKING HER BED AND CLEANING THE ROOM. I DID HER LAUNDRY BECAUSE THEY WASHED AND DRYED HER HEARING AID. IT TOOK ME A MONTH TO CONVENCE THEM THAT I WOULD DO HER LAUNDRY. THEY SAID IT MADE THE ROOM SMELL. I SAID YOU CAN WALK DOWN THE HALL ANY TIME OF THE DAY OR NIGHT AND IT REEKS OF URINE. NOT ONE KNOWS ANYTHING AND I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO IS LIVING THERE. ANY TIME I WOULD ASK A QUESTION NO ONE KNEW ABOUT IT. I HOPE MY MOTHER WILL FORGIVE ME FOR PUTTING HER THROU THAT. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVING PARENT I THEIS PLACE.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother was a resident at Allenbrook Nursing Home. It was sub-par to say the least. The smell was horrendous and the facility itself was filthy. There were not enough staff members to go around and they seemed uncaring to say the least. their patients were more of a nuisance than a priority. The residents with dementia are treated like prisoners. They are kept in a locked corridor with bars on the windows and chains on the doors. Seeing those people in there was gut wrenching. I took my mother home with me and bathed her myself after First requests and then complaints fell on deaf ears. My mother also seemed to be sedated the majority of the time. After my mothers death I learned that during her stay at Allenbrook she suffered a broken arm and had never received medical attention for it. I pray everyday that my mother forgives me for not having the resources to provide her with better care.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

This facility is dirty, and constantly has the aroma of urine in the air. Patients don't get the attention required to maintain healthy hygiene. Some patients are even ignored by the staff. I have been in and out of it for sometime now and the staff there doesn't seem to care about the patients. I personal have seen patients calling for a nurses help for over 30 minutes without ever getting the help they needed from staff. The staff gather all the smokers in the front driveway a few times a day for smoke breaks. there are several patients that have had to be removed from the facility that are not even suppose to be there. This place is truly one of the worst facilities that I have ever had a chance to visit! What ever you do, do not let your love ones spend their last days in a place of this stature!
