My husband and I are always impress with the service they give his father my father in law when we use respite care at Sliver Pine Nursing & Rehabilitation in Bastrop Texas. Its nice to know when we have to drop our father off here for days at a time per year to get us a break or vacation he is in good hands. This nursing facility is always clean never smell like urinate and poop when we drop him off, even when we pop up. Administrator is very knowledgeable and loving. Our father have been coming here well over 3yrs and no matter when he comes back the staffing of all levels knows him and is enthusiastic, loving and caring. We like that the staff knows he will get out of the bed so they put his bed all the way down and put a mat by the bed so he wouldn't fall out the bed because he like to crawl. We like when its time for us to pick our father up to bring him home the staff has him ready with all his stuff and we do not have to spend a long time there. Please keep the excellent work up because the VA only have two facility we can take him to and this was the one we chose. Thank you all so much from EN.

My dad has been in Silver Pines for about nine months. My feedback is not good. It stinks. They have people sitting in the halls moaning and groaning. My dad is not very well taken care of, but we try to keep an eye on it. It is not where I want him to be. We have some really major issues with them. If I can move him, I will move him in an instant.

Silver Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation's strong suit is that the staff knows their clients. My father was there for 14 months and from the first day there nurses, aides, adminisitrators, counselors knew his name. By the first week they were discussing his "quirks" with me. The staff wanted to understand his nature and personality as well as his medical needs. If you are looking for a facility with a staff that cares about residents, Silver Pines is a facility that deserves your attention. Medical care is solid and personal attention is great.

I am surprised at the "official" ratings. My father has been a resident at Silver Pines for 6 months, and I do not believe I could have found a better place for him. If you are looking for institutional white and institutional impersonality, then Silver Pines is NOT the place. It old fashioned "feel," not just because the walls are painted colors, but because the staff -- nurses and nursing aides -- KNOW their clients. The nurses and aides talk to the residents, recognize the resident's individual "quirks," and adapt their approaches to accommodate different personalities. They are nice to the residents and treat them with caring respect. My father is known by his name, by his condition and by his "quirks." When I visit, I see smiles, I hear laughter and I smell nothing (which all the how-to books say is a good thing). If you are looking for a place for humans to be treated with humanity and respect, Silver Pines is a place to consider.
