My friend lives at The Continental and I'm making arrangements to move there myself. I saw one room that was furnished and it was very attractive. And then I went to see the 2-bedroom apartment that my girlfriend had just recently vacated to move to a different apartment. The rooms were pretty spacious. I did meet with the staff who interviewed people who want to move to the residence and did the application. She was very pleasant and efficient. They served 3 meals a day, plus they had snacks available. They had a lot of card games, bingo, and exercise programs. It was not a new facility, but they were doing upgrades. But not every apartment has had an upgrade yet.

I think I would prefer to go to The Continental Retirement Community. I like the price and the physical look of the facility, and its location is convenient. It's very close to where I currently live, so I wouldn't have to adjust to a new neighborhood. The living spaces were not very large; they were medium-sized. I was looking at a one-bedroom-one-bath. They had a library, an activity room, and of course a dining facility. I had a meal there and it was acceptable. It was more casual dining like you would find at Applebee's or Denny's. The staff who assisted me with the tour was mostly knowledgeable. By her own admission, she had only been at that facility for about three months and was not familiar with the territory around it.

The Continental looked like an older apartment that was made into independent living. It was more hidden like there were a lot of trees and things around it. The staff who assisted us were very nice and very accommodating. They spoke highly of the place. It was a good tour. The dining area was right as you walked into the place, which I thought was unusual. And nothing was going on at the time. In comparison to the other community, it wasn't as open, light, and welcoming.

I visited The Continental and loved it. The person who accommodated me was really good and knew her stuff. We were there at dinner, and the food looked good. They had a library, game room, dining room, and a bus that takes them anywhere they want to go. They have all kinds of activities, I'm really impressed. If I get older, I want to go there. Its way above what is available in our area, so it's really great. They had a soup and salad bar, ice cream bar, and snacks.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Continental. I am very pleased. Making a change was a little bit traumatic, but there's nowhere else I'd rather be. The staff is wonderful and excellent. The food is also excellent. The facilities are great and I don't have any complaints or issues about the place at all. I've been doing their exercise class. I think the price is reasonable compared with the other places.

I am an 85 year old resident of The Continental Retirement Community. After my husband died in 2010, I lived alone for four years in my home in De Soto, Texas. Even with many friends, I found living alone was not the best situation for me. I have a son, his wife and one grandson living in South Austin, so this was the ideal place to resettle. Together we looked at several other facilities. The decision was easy, we found The Continental ideal for my needs. The thing that attracted me most was the friendliness of all the staff, the servers in the dinning room and all the residents we met. Another big attraction was having my own washer and dryer in my apartment. This has meant so much not having to go down the hall to do my laundry. I have lived here for almost three years and still love where I live. I feel as if God led me here to this great place. I am looking forward to many years at The Continental.

The Continental was good, very clean, and convenient. They also had respite care, but it was much harder to get because they only had one room and sometimes it was occupied and sometimes it wasn't. The food was not very good, but the staff was really nice. The dining area was very good. The food was the worst part, it was disappointing, and the price was higher than other facilities.

The Continental seemed to be a nice place to live, but it was the most expensive of all the ones that I saw. However, it was very well laid out. The location was great. It had very quick access to the freeway, so you could get to malls, entertainment events, bowling, and restaurant. It was only a five minute drive.

The Continental had all kinds of good stuff. It was really neat and I like the people. They had different activities, like outings to go to like a musical theater, but you have a little extra for that. They involved the people there. The place is also close to my son and I like the atmosphere. One thing I didn’t really like was the apartment they showed. It had a dishwasher and they were going to upgrade it, take the dishwasher out and put a microwave. To me it’s a downgrade. But that’s what they were doing with all their apartments.

Everybody was very kind and helpful in answering all of my questions at the Continental. The dining room was very nice, but it gave us a depressing feeling because it seemed like the residents weren’t as independent as my mother. However, their prices were very reasonable.

I’m moving into The Continental. I like that it has regular people in there, not people with Alzheimer’s. It is like living in the finest hotel, and I have really enjoyed it. I’m going to get a much larger room for the same price as smaller rooms in other places. They have art lessons, which I’m going to really enjoy. They have three meals a day, which is very nice, and the food is very good. I’m going to enjoy it.

The Continental was pleasant. The facility and the people were very nice. The rooms were nice and adequate. I took a meal there and enjoyed it. The service was very nice and the food was good. The food was not real fancy that would be too spicy. It was good, plain, down to earth food, which I think good for senior citizens.

My older sister opted for The Continental in Austin. My sister really likes it. They offer home health which is not exactly assisted living, but what they offer seems to be appropriate for what she was looking for, and so far we are happy. She has only been there not even a week, but the people are extremely helpful, nice, and attentive. The facilities are all wonderful, and she likes the food. I haven't heard anything negative from her about the place. They have a full schedule of activities. They go out to plays, movies, and restaurants. They take people to groceries stores and to doctors' appointments. There is always something going on, and it is very active. You can bring your own stuff. They have about six or seven floor plans ranging from a very small to a large two bedroom. They are all attractive. They put new stuff in before each new resident moves in, so the carpet is new, and the room is beautifully painted. They are quite nice. One thing that I especially appreciated is that compared to comparable independent living that has home health in the premises, their community's first time non-refundable fees is only half the rent. So that was especially attractive considering how nice the place is.

I’m kind of pleased with the staff and everything. My brother has a one bedroom, and it is satisfactory. I’ve only eaten there once or twice, but he seems OK with it. They have stuff going on every week, and they have transportation. The Continental is a caring atmosphere. I would recommend. I like the staff, and it is conveniently located.

I liked The Continental because cost effectively they're good. They seem to have a lot of things going on. They are kind of a hustle and bustle type of place. The rooms are good. My mom is going to get a one bedroom, and it is nice. Most of the rooms have a balcony which is a nice thing to have as well. As for the meals, some of the other facilities only do two meals a day or they have this really weird meal deal going on. But over here, they provide three meals a day. The guy that does the activity is great. I really liked him. They all have the same thing like bridge, arts and crafts, and tours to places. They also have a home and health care company that resides on the property which mother is going to need for my dad.

My daughter decided to stay at The Continental for retirees, but one year later we were moving her again because she was too alone and she was not able to take care of herself. Because it is a retirement community, the residents were very independent and have to be very independent. The room was beautiful, she had two rooms with a large living room area, a small kitchenette, a bedroom, and two baths.

The Continental was my favorite of those. It was the place that was just independent living. I thought the apartments were really nice. They have great balconies on all the apartments. The landscaping was beautiful. It was set in the middle of a big greenbelt so there weren’t a lot of businesses or roads around it. Certainly the facility was clean, spacious, and had the remoteness away from the city, streets, and noises. Food was the best there. The people were the nicest ones I ever met. They have like ambassadors to some older people and they were all around greeting people. Everybody looked like they were happy there. Again, they didn’t have assisted living or a wheelchair lift.

The Continental is very clean. The facility is nice, but just a bit expensive. My dad chose it because it's very close to my house, close to his doctor and to the senior center where he goes on a weekly basis. They provide 3 communal meals a day, despite it's an independent living, so he doesn't need to cook. They seemed to have a lot of activities. He has the opportunity to be with other people.

My husband's family chose The Continental Retirement for their parents. They liked the place and they decided that's the place to be for them. The staff seemed to be really nice, very helpful, and very competent with what they are doing. The place is beautiful. Staff would come in and clean their apartment at least once a week, if not more often, and I think that's awesome. My father is not very happy with the turnover of the cooks and some of the staff working in the cafeteria because some of the meals were not good and then some were excellent. They have different groups over there. They have groups for arts and crafts. They also have church services in there, but to my knowledge they have not gotten involved in any of the activities as of yet.

There are several things that I liked about The Continental Retirement Community. I like the arrangement of the apartment. They are of good size. They have a small kitchen and the people that run it were extremely nice. So far, I am extremely pleased with everything.
