I visited The Arbors At Etheridge House for my husband. I was very favorably impressed with it. It was lovely. I like the layout of it. It was just a good experience all around. The staff was very helpful. The administrator did most of the tour guide and answered my questions, but everybody was very friendly.

This is in Tennessee, where I have some relatives, so visiting would be fairly easy for them. Driving to the facility was very pleasant, through farmland and open fields and some woody areas. As a nature lover, the entire area pleased me. However, it does seem somewhat isolated and going anywhere to metropolitan areas would be problematic. There is just no good transportation here, although I was assured by the staff and also by some of the residents that their shuttle bus was available at any time. I arrived at lunch time and I must admit the food smelled absolutely wonderful--delicious and somehow very homey. This is fortunate because I did not see as many other activities sch as arts or crafts or even more physically active things like gardening or walking groups or lawn croque as I had observed in other facilities I had visited. It may be that these were just not "pushed on" the residents as in some facilities, and so were more low key. They allow pets, which of course I always look for. This facility is operated by Americare. This is a very relaxed pleasant place to live. It is not on my "A" list, but I am not ruling it out by any means. I can see where it could definitely grow on me.

My mothe is in Etheridge House and the care she receives is truly outstanding. They keep me informed and have met her needs in every way. That is a great comfort for me as I live in a different state. They are one of the best!
