My friend is at The Victorian Assisted Living. One of the things that helped us decide is simply the location, the view that it has, the backyard, and when you look out the window of her room, you see trees and something besides sidewalks and parking lots. The view is nice. The building has lots of sunlight. Those are two of the reasons we chose that. The services are appropriate for what she needs and the staff has been pleasant, helpful, and friendly. We've been very pleased. It is not pet friendly and they don't do regular transportation though. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The dining room is comfortable. They have little tables for four and it's an attractive room and it looks like it's convenient to the kitchen and the rooms. The layout of the place is nice. It is a fairly new building, so it's clean and looks well kept. The big windows, the sunlight, and the view were a big part of that. They have kind of a backyard area with grass and there's also kind of a concrete patio that's part of that, then they do flowers in the spring out there. They offer things and I have been in there and heard people laughing like they were having a lot of fun.

My mother has been at The Victorian Assisted Living for two to three weeks now. I like the services, the friendly people, and the residents seem very happy. They're doing well. We're just having trouble getting her TV to work. It resets every time she shuts it off. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. She seems to like the food and the desserts. They have exercise programs, little concerts that they put on, they bring in animals and pets once in a while, they have games and cards and devotions, and a variety of activities. it's very clean and very nice. They do a nice job. They have a little courtyard with flowers in the back and a swing.

Since new management has come in, The Victorian is definitely back on the right track! The rooms and building are clean and fresh, the staff is well-educated and friendly, and the whole environment is very home-like. The kitchen is making all the meals from scratch and is very attentive to the residents likes and don't likes! Truly thankful for our experience here!

Was shocked to see how the residents rooms were kept and what staff would allow to be so sticky solid floors and the smell so bad could be healthy for anyone. Family works there which had no position for but see it going down standards with management.

I loved this place... right in the middle of things in down town rapid city so there is a lot to do... lots of shops and restaurants nearby and of course regional health's main hospital is only a mile away which is really comforting in case there is ever a need... I really liked that fact a lot. Staff was so sweet and the place is super cute.

My father was there for more than two years. I'm so happy to get him out of there now, to much better care. And he is so much happier and doing much better as a result. The physical facility is still very good and some of the staff are still very good and caring too. Unfortunately, some staff now are not good and should not be trusted with real caregiving and the situation is deteriorating as a result. As long as you don't need much assistance other than pills and calls to meals it might be satisfactory. I wish something could be done to turn the situation around, but it would require some hard changes at this point. Best wishes for the Victorian and I hope you can find the good care you are looking for. It's certainly a challenge to see beyond the front these days.
