The Legacy of Orangeburg is really good. They don't have a lot of skilled care and physical therapy. They have a couple of nurses, but it's more for people that are either independent or just need some mild assistance. I like the friendly staff. They're very courteous and welcoming. They go above and beyond to find the best suited place for my mom. They're very dedicated and committed to what they do. It's a nice environment, and it's like five minutes from my house. It's a very nice place. However, they didn't have the number of staff that the other place had. The staff members were very friendly, caring, very courteous, and professional though. I like the dining area. They have a common area where they can meet up. They have a calendar with a lot of activities. They have a courtyard area where they can come out.

Morningside of Orangeburg looks like a nice place for someone who can take care of themselves and might need a little bit of assistance. Unfortunately, my dad needs a lot of assistance, so he's not a good candidate to stay there. However, if I needed somewhere to go just to be around some folks, and I could take care of myself and everything, I wouldn't think twice about going there. It looked pretty nice to me, but it's not a full-care nursing home. They'll help you with some things, but they're only limited to what they can do. The staff seemed pretty nice and the meals looked good. It's just the whole setting, the sitting area and all felt comfortable. You can go in and just kind of sit and relax and chat. The dining area looked nice. Some of the rooms are smaller apartments, and some are just regular rooms with lesser amenities, but it just felt more homey to me. Not only that, but it's also in a good location in Orangeburg to be able to get in and out without having to worry about a ton of traffic. The older folks that were there were sitting down and eating, they were having fun chatting, and the food they were having looked good. It's a pretty good-looking brick building, and outside its fixed up pretty good. It makes you feel safe when you get in there. The shrubbery is well trimmed, the grass is cut, and everything looks good. The parking area has enough parking space. It's really conducive to going in and letting an elderly person out for a drive. There's also a little area there that you can drive under if it's raining or something like that. As far as the building itself, it was well laid out. The staff member that I met seemed like they're very dedicated to what they were doing and like they were interested with the people. The residents there seemed to enjoy talking to them, and there was a good intercourse between the residents and the staff.

Morningside has been a wonderful resource for my mother and my entire family. Moving my mother from her much beloved home was not easy for any of us, but everyone at Morningside was incredibly supportive and within a few weeks Mom was settled and actually participating in activities and integrating into her new life! It has been an amazing process, and I am very grateful to the professional and dedicated staff. Literally everyone we have encountered has offered us gracious and unhesitating assistance. Each and every one convinced us with their words and equally important by their actions that they were dedicated to the very best care for my mother. I immediately felt comfortable when I first visited , and now my mother has a safe, caring new home and extended family. I highly recommend Morningside of Orangeburg to anyone seeking a loving, supportive, and safe environment for themselves or a very special loved one.

I have never met a more helpful, caring staff than my sister and I just encountered at Morningside of Orangeburg, SC. I have visited friends and family in other assisted living facilities throughout the country but this one was definitely different. From the moment you walk in the front door, you feel a warm and friendly home environment. The outside is decorated beautifully in celebration of the Fall season and you can't help but smile as you pass by residents rocking in the chairs on the porch as they enjoy conversation with staff and family. The Executive Director and the Marketing Director for Morningside spent almost 3 hours walking us through my uncle's condition and then they gave us their recommendations for next steps to ensure his safety, financial stability and as they said, more importantly helping us find a way to help him find some level of happiness in his current situation. My uncle is happy there and constantly tells us how GREAT the food is and that Morningside provides entertainment and activities galore if you want to participate. He is especially fond of Morningside's Apple Pie A LA Mode. Without even having to look at notes, the ED walked us through my Uncle's challenges and progress. I was extremely impressed at the level of professionalism demonstrated and the absolute willingness of the ED and her staff to bend over backwards to help us work to find the right solution to my Uncle's newest challenges of memory loss. It's awful when a loved one realizes their memory is going and there's nothing they can do but prepare for the worst. I cannot recommend this home more highly than to say, I can't think of a more caring, well run facility for my Uncle to be in than Morningside of Orangeburg. I owe them my family's most sincere thanks for treating my Uncle as if he was a family member of theirs -- and for helping each resident retain as much dignity as they can for the number of days they have left in their care. THANK YOU MORNINGSIDE STAFF! In a society losing compassion, I found where it all went at Morningside!

They have activities everyday to stimulate their interest. It is also a beautiful place. Very well maintained. The facility has been informative and helpful. I believe that the rent is reasonable .Check it out

My mother has been here a bit over a year. The staff couldn't be more kind or attentive to her! I have found them very open and responsive, willing to work with us on medical and and other needed care issues. They also try very hard to supply activities to keep the residents engaged and healthy. The facility itself is always clean and never has that smell one associates with poorly-run/poorly maintained facilities(if you have shopped around, you know exactly what I mean). The food is good. Thank you, Morningside!

Morningside was a nice place. I enjoyed the area and thought it would have been a nice place to stay. They had a nice community gathering place, a TV room, and a place where you can go and do different games. I played the guitar and sang for them.

Everything was very proper at Morningside of Orangeburg. The dining area was very nice, which was set up to be pretty and fashionable. They had nice porches with chairs. It was a very nice clean building. The help seemed to be very nice at the time that we were there. It seemed like the ideal place, and the staff were great, but it was just not affordable for my mother.

The staff was very friendly and informative at Morningside of Orangeburg. The rooms and apartments were lovely and spacious. The dining room looked OK -- not a cafeteria style -- but it was like a college dorm style but more homey like. They had a gentleman come in and play music for them when we went to visit. The place seems secure and safe, they ring the bell to get in, and they have the time in log.

Morningside is a drop-dead gorgeous place. My friend had a two-room apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom. They have activities there but it reminds me of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in there. The staff took care of the residents but was detached. It was all aesthetic. I wouldn't want to be there.

My mother is at Morningside. The facility is clean and the food is great. I was able to eat there. The staff is nice, very attentive, very helpful, and they seem to be taking good care of her. The residents are pretty active. They have bingo, exercises, they shop and go to church, and I even saw some musicians in there.

Unlike the stigma of many assisted living facilities, Morningside had a genuinely friendly and helpful staff. My great grandmother, who was quite picky and unhappy about leaving her home, was quite happy here. Her favorite part was visiting the "spa" and getting her hair done every week or 2. The complex is also in a beautiful rural area, and didn't seem too different than her home on a farm.

Had a love one there for several years. Would have to visit several times a week to make sure they were ok. They would not encourage there residents to come out of there rooms for activities or to eat . My love one would not go out all day to eat and we were never notified when I finally figured this out we had to move them. The Director there never would follow up a complaint and get back with you was not friendly at all .She had this position in title only in my opinion..

Morningside in Orangeburg, SC is an assisted living facility that is somewhat above par for what would be expected in this area. Orangeburg is a rural farming community with strained access to healthcare in the first place, and when I went to visit my boss' wife there (whom I am also friendly with) I was partially impressed. The location is excellent, maybe five minutes from the regional hospital, and very convenient for friends and family members to get to. Everything there was new and all of the residents seemed upbeat as I walked through. One thing I did notice was a slight lack of staff attention, like they were too busy to look me in the eye as I walked by. As compared to other area nursing homes I would give Morningside four out of five stars, but if you have no ties to the area I would recommend somewhere that is more equipped to do a sterling job. Good luck!
