My father was at Life Care Center of Hilton Head earlier this year for rehabilitation, and I can't say anything bad about them. They were very courteous, nice, and attentive. They took care of him while he was there. His room was clean and well kept. The dining area was very nice, and the food was good; he enjoyed it. He had a very nice room. The bed was kept clean, the linen and the floor were clean, it had nice ventilation, and the bathroom was clean. They had him in the dining room with others, and also with his physical therapy. Most of the time he didn't want to eat in the dining room, but they did little activities in the activity room. He was happy when he was in there. I didn't have to pay anything; Medicaid took care of that.

My husband stayed at Life Care Center of Hilton Head after his injury. The food was fairly good. He was bedridden at that time, and to me, he only got minimum care and not full-time care, which was what he needed. He was there from June to January, and I had to move him because I couldn't let him stay there. It was not a very good place to be, especially on the weekends where the staff or whoever was supposed to work there wouldn't show up. There would be like one person taking care of the whole ward. It was bad. When he was first there, two-thirds of the price was paid by insurance, but on the 100th day, we had to pay full price, and that's $10,000 or $11,000 a month. It was my first experience being in that kind of a facility, and I thought the price was extremely high.

The staff are excellent, caring and informative. Anything my dad needed was given at a timely matter. The PT, Speech and OT are Great. Overall the facility took great care of my dad and now he's home and continuing outpatient therapy. Thank you LifeCare

Words would never suffice to express my gratitude for the excellent care I received while recuperating from September through November for an infection in my bloodstream followed by back surgery. I won't mention specific names because everyone was extremely knowledgeable, proficient and caring. They each were a positive influence on my successful recovery. Thank you to each and everyone at Life Care Center of Hilton Head!!! Regards, Barbara Barrett, HHI

My mother's room was clean and the food looked great, but the most amazing part of Life Care was the skilled help of the occupational therapist and the physical therapist who helped my mom get so much stronger and back on her feet after, a CHF episode. The facility is across the street from the hospital which was comforting to my mother. She is now ready to return to her apartment thanks to the staff at Life Care. If she needs skilled care again, this would be my first choice and my mother is picky!

I had heard mixed reviews on this facility. However when my 92 year old mother needed a place to get PT, speech therapy and OT, we chose Life Care Center because it was close to our home. We were so impressed with the care she received from the very knowledgeable rehab staff, the kind and caring nurses and the cleanliness of the facility. She left stronger than she had been in years!

I loved Life Care Center of Hilton Head. It was clean, rooms were big, nobody seemed like they were neglected, and it seemed really nice. They have a beautician and group activities. They have games, people that come in that sing and do Bible studies, and trips to the stores. The people talk to you and don't ignore you, and the staff turnover is very low.

Life Care Center is where my father stayed that threw him out. My father went there Saturday and on Monday, they sent him back to the hospital. At Life Care Center, I've never met such a bunch of lazy people. The assistants were out in the sitting area watching TV and playing games on their phone instead of sitting in the room with the patients where they should have been. I've asked for something to drink for my father in the evening and they told me the kitchen was closed. They could improve on keeping better record because I held up my end of the deal but they did not with their end of the deal. They said they can't care for my father so they sent him out. If they could have said, "We were wrong, so let's help you find a place for him," but they didn't. Instead they just sent my father back to the hospital. So there was no communication there whatsoever. The facility was very dark. The first night I stayed there, nobody came to check in on my dad. I was helping him to go to the bathroom and just did all those things for him but then I found out that they didn't want me doing those things and they wanted me to call them if he had to get up and go the bathroom, but they never checked on him that whole night.
