My step-father is presently a resident at Apple Rehab Clipper. When families are dealing with difficult health situations it is very stressful. The staff at Apple are wonderful. The administrative end, Cheryl, Sarah and Amy are extremely helpful in answering questions and helping with paperwork. The nursing, rehab and aide's are caring and attentive. The rooms are clean and sunny. The activities women are funny and do a great job at getting everyone involved in daily activities. We are very happy with Apple Rehab Clipper and thankful that we have found a home away from home for my step-father.

My mom chose to move into Apple Rehab Clipper in Westerly. It is owned by a private family and there's a couple of them. It is excellent. They seem very open to speaking with the families. I've called them a number of times and they tell me to call them for whatever we need. They were very thorough, and I have to say very professional. Everything I'm looking for, and I actually took my mom in there, she got to speak to the ladies. Obviously she didn't get to tour the place and I didn't get a tour of the place. What they did was they took a phone and they took a picture without the residents there, because of privacy issues, but they showed us where her room was and what it looked like. They did the best they could considering COVID. I only saw the room in pictures, but it was spacious, clean, and roomy.

We cannot say thank you enough for the incredible job they did caring for our mother after a stroke until she passed several weeks later. Their care and concern for her was evident every time you went into her room. From our first phone call and meeting with Laurie, director of nursing, we had a feeling this was absolutely the right place for our mom to finish her beautiful life. The nursing team treated her like she was their grandmother- holding her hand and caressing her cheek when they talked with her. The food service team made even pureed food look appetizing and it always smelled delicious! The housekeeping and laundry team always made sure her room was clean and her pajamas were fresh. The admin team helped with the business end of what is often complicated. The hospice team are truly angels on earth. They always greeted us the moment we walked in the door, answered our questions and asked how we were and could they get us anything. They helped our family with probably the most difficult few weeks we have had by treating her with grace and dignity. This team made a very hard job look easy.

My mother is at Apple Rehab Clipper today recovering from a stroke and awaiting a surgery for a brain tumor. My mom is not stable on her legs at all and needs help getting up out of bed and wheelchair. Her physical therapy is fantastic here but her personal care and attention is not. We have had to speak up more than once for my mom not being responded to when pushing her light for assistance to be changed. My mothers doctor ordered a urine sample as mom has a high fever. I had to keep asking to see if the staff responded. They did almost two days later. The results were positive for a UTI! The meals are fine. My mom has good care from some of the CNA's but a lot of them are not respectful to the elderly.

My Mother spent one month at this facility. Prior to that, she had spent a week at the hospital dealing with a serious urinary tract infection. Honestly, I thought she would never make it out of the rehab and would have to stay in a facility. I was mistaken! The facility was aesthetically pleasing and cheerful. The staff was incredibly caring, kind, patient, and worked so hard. The food was presented very nicely~it was nutritious and delicious. They taylored my Mom's exercise program so her muscle groups would be strong and developed for tasks she would need to do upon returning home (getting in and out of bed by herself, going to the bathroom unassisted, washing hands, brushing teeth, walking, climbing stairs). They taught her everything and she responded beautifully! The bedrooms were cheerful and clean. Another important thing was, they had my Mom dressed every day; no lying around in pajamas all day. I was completely shocked that my Mom was actually able to return home in 30 days!! I can't say enough about how much we appreciate the staff at Apple Clipper Rehab! Our family is very grateful.
