My mother-in-law was at Passavant Community. It was very nice, and the people working there were very nice, too. They had older houses and newer ones, and they also had amenities. Food was very good -- my mother-in-law never complained about it. There were a lot of activities like bingo, chair exercises, and card nights.

The one-bedrooms at Passavant Community did not have a balcony or a patio and I don't care to walk down a hall and down an elevator to get some fresh air. They have villas and little cottages with a garage, but you pay for all that. The lady suggested that maybe I might like a cottage, whose layout is probably about the same size as the one bedroom in the building. So I went over and looked at the cottage. You could go out the back door and there would be a little patio back there. They have a swimming pool. It's like a little town with these little streets with these cottages and villas and then the main building where they have their activities. It seemed too much for me. Even if I could afford it, I don't know that I would utilize all that. The staff did their job. They showed me around and gave me all the information I needed, but they weren't interested in me. They were just interested in showing me what they needed to show me. It had a nice library. It had a nice dining area and had all the activities you could want.

We've lived here six years in independent living, and are quite pleased with everything. There's a wonderful, friendly, capable staff and beautiful facilities. The term "community" is appropriate, from the neighborly volunteer spirit of the residents to the cooperative decision-making of staff/resident committees. A parent was also here in assisted living and nursing, and received excellent care. Nursing and other staff were attentive and competent, and interacted wonderfully with family members. We couldn't ask for more.

I have nothing but good to say about Passavant Retirement my father has been taken care of very well. He has his own apartment but has 24/7 days a week care. They have contacted me when they think their is an issue and we worked through those. My father's apartment is really nice and just enough for him. He loves to play Bingo but trying to get him into an adult day program on the campus where I think getting him out more is good. They have a full dining hall where he lives but he is able to use anything on the grounds like gym, swimming pool they have shops at the Main building and a restaurant he can go and eat. I really am pleased. Oh and if you are a resident you get first crack at the rehab for skilled nursing which is amazing nothing like what you would think of a nursing home it's a suite.

My mother has lived at this community for about 13 years and recently moved to the personal care unit. She has had a full and stimulating life and has many activities which she enjoys. The personal care that she is now receiving is excellent.

Took my mom here just days after our father, her husband, died. The on site "intake counselor, realtor" was rude and dismissive to both of us and her assistant. She appeared uninterested in my mom's requests and questions. Would not offer alternatives. Basically told my mom that she made too much for one type of housing and not enough for the other. Refused a tour for her. We both left in tears. My cousin works here and verified this individual. I even spoke with the director, who did NOTHING but support her employee. Will NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

Passavant Community is extremely nice, and it’s brand new. I think with my parents being a little bit older, they wouldn’t be able to utilize all the amenities that they had to offer. They do have different levels of care. The community was a little bit more widespread instead of more compact which would have been inconvenient for an older person. They had hair salons, a pub, a creamery, and everything there. It is a fabulous facility.

What I like about Passavant is that it's very close to home. I went there for a visit, and the place is very nice. They have done a lot of remodeling and increasing the size of the place. It meets all your needs. They have a lot of activities going on like swimming, arts and crafts, and those types of things. The staff is very nice.

My mother-in-law is in the waiting list at Passavant Retirement Community. The staff was excellent, and it was something that you can definitely visualize where your family members could be. It's warm, it looked like a fun place to be, and there were things that would keep your family member active. It was set up to be very interactive so that other people would be talking to each other, etc. It was very social. They have a swimming pool and hobby type things like sewing, crocheting, computers, a library, craft rooms, and pretty much anything that somebody would be interested in.

Be aware of the sales pitch! Yes they have different activities/events/maintenance help BUT you pay extra for it!!! They make it sound like it is all include BUT it is NOT. Also the bus service is VERY expensive....about $18.00 to go to Walmart 3-miles down the road. They know these folks are on fixed incomes yet try to take every last penny putting them into depression state because they feel as if they have nothing and are 'trapped' in staying there. ASLO, be aware that in the sales pitch they tell you that if your money runs out they will never kick you out. One would assume that they mean the room/apt./cottage you are in. NOT THE CASE! They will keep moving you around....imagine moving at 90, again! Real shame! No heart!

Passavant Retirement Community offers different kinds of apartments. You can have a studio or a one or two-bedroom apartment. They also have both independent and assisted living. They offer meal plan and they have different activities including exercise classes. They would take you to places and to your doctor's appointment. It's overall a good place. The staff are very responsive to every question that I asked them.

Over period of years, I have known several people that live at Passavant. It seemed that they have a lot of activities that keeps the residents active. They have a pool, exercise facility, and a library. From what I've seen so far, I would recommend this facility to others.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a lot of great social activities for those staying in the facility. The visiting family members were also welcomed to participate with their loved ones which was nice. Whenever we visit we feel as if we are in a normal apartment not a hospital or anything of that sort. There were no signs of neglect or abuse of those living there and all of there needs and wants were taken care of. My grandmother is extremely happy in this facility and always talks about what is going on there. All in all great experience.

My experience with this provider has been very good. I recently checked in a family member who was 93 and he has been treated amazingly. His floor has a great RN who notices the slightest changes with his physical and mental demeanor. They immediately notice a change with his memory after he was put on a medication and fixed the problem in a day.The facility is very kind to visitors and it seems as though there is no shortage of volunteers for the front desk. Passavant is very clean and the food is "very good" according to my family member staying there. The only thing that I can negatively say about Passavant is that the construction for their new building is taking a while and that its kind of confusing at first when you try to enter and leave a wing because you have to put a code into a security system.Overall Passavant definitely is nice compared to most facilities in the area

My sister lives on the grounds of the Center in Luther Court. My entire family has lived on the grounds in the past. While the Center is a bit expensive the residents who live on the grounds have beautiful places and can move into the Center when the time comes that they need the extra help. The Center is run by a faith-based organization and there is a long waiting list. There is a medical clinic on the grounds along with a hairdresser and gift shop. They offer classes and trips for those able to attend and have their own bus for transportation. The employees take wonderful care of the patients/residents that are in the skilled, assisted, or intermediate care. Because there is such a diversity of living choices available here and the care is so wonderful, a patient/resident and his/her family have multiple care options that lessen the worry of getting older. I know that my sister will be well taken care of as she gets older.

Lutheran Senior Life, previously called Passavant Retirement Center has a pleasant atmosphere. They are welcoming and appear to take very good care of their residents.
