I would like to give a “SHOUT OUT” to the HomeCare staff at Normandie Ridge. My parents moved into the facility 13 years ago. Unfortunately, my step father passed away a few years ago but my mother continues to live in her apartment. These last few years have been a small medical challenge in some ways but because the HomeCare staff was available there to help her with some of her everyday activities, she has been able to continue independent living in her own apartment. Priscilla has gone out of her way to make accommodations for Mom. Her staff of Erika and Sara have been the lifesavers helping her with many of her daily needs, both day and night. Normandie Ridge is a great place to live and having HomeCare services available to their residents adds an additional benefit to the services and activities already provided by Normandie Ridge and the staff.

Excellent facility in York, and unfortunately I have seen a few, nothing compares to Normandie Ridge. The staff is excellent, rooms are nice, love the Patriot Cafe, my people have no complaints on the food.

We have been Independent residents for 7 years. Our experience has been great. We enjoy interacting with residents of like mind & values. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The food is outstanding. There are many different activities that you can participate in as many or as little as you choose. The lawncare has improved greatly & we enjoy inviting prospective residents to view our home & campus.

We moved into a cottage in the fall of 2023. Both of us are really enjoying being members of this Continous Care Retirement Community. There is so much peace of mind in that! The staff knows us personally and we quickly have grown very fond of them. Daily, there is a kind and compassionate atmosphere. We attend special events and a variety of activities. The food is very good, and we love that the Patriot Cafe has a different soup on the menu each day. The Maintenance Department takes very good care of the property. We are proud to invite friends and family to campus. There is a Chaplain who leads Bible Study and weekly church services. There is a sense of safety that comes with living here. Residents look out for each other. They are just nice people! We are blessed to call Normandie Ridge our home!

Thinking about moving to Normandie Ridge/Asbury? You may want to think again. I have resided in Normandie Ridge Independent Living for 9 years, and it is amazing how the costs have increased. Our rent has gone up several hundred dollars(

Prior to COVID, we visited Normandie Ridge. I would say it was within the last 3 years. The place was so nice. It was modern, there was plenty of staff, and they had lots of activities for everybody. You could kind of pick and choose what you wanted to do. It had total care there so from being very mobile or if, God forbid, you were completely immobile at the end, there was a way for you to be cared for in their facility. The staff was very friendly and very outgoing. Everything was clean, the apartments were modern, and the cottages and everything were very well equipped for someone who was elderly. There were push buttons within the facility. Everybody, even the residents, was just so friendly and so nice. There was nothing for me personally, as a caretaker, that I did not like, but one thing that was disappointing to my dad was, and I will say my dad is in his 80s so take this with a grain of salt or whatever, but he was very disappointed that there was no gym there. He likes to work out and that's a huge thing for him. On the grounds, there wasn't anything like that for him so he would have to drive off the grounds and a little bit away to get to a gym that he likes. The gyms that were close by were not great for the elderly because they had stuff going up. They just weren't super friendly of all ages. He does have a gym here, where he's at currently, that's pretty friendly to all ages and my dad is working out every day to keep himself limber, and to help with his arthritis is extremely important to him. The food was good but that was the big sticking point with him, that there's no gym. There were 2 treadmills and there just wasn't much of anything else so I think that was disappointing for him. They said they could get him a ride to a gym but he just didn't feel he was going to be happy because of that. You can be in their assisted living or you could be in independent living and there are ways to do that no matter where you are on the ground. If you're in the apartments, there is sort of like a nursing home wing so if you were worse off, you could be there. That was sort of part of the apartment complex. The apartments and the cottages that we saw, it was a mix of assisted and independent living. There are lots of food options there so I can't see that you can't get what you'd want to eat every day. The facility has a good layout and everything is good. Like it even has good bathrooms for the elderly and all that.

I am a relative and found the rehab and nursing care to be horrible. They are understaffed and the nursing assistants were short tempered to down right mean to the patients. I observed them being short tempered to two of my mothers roommates. My mother said one would not help her to go to the bathroom and told her to do it in her do it in her diaper and let her be lay in it for hours. I came over to visit and my mother was sleeping in a wheel chair in the hallway. No food or drink with her. I gave her an insure drink but had to run out for a delivery and when i came back 4 hours later she was still in the hall with that drink i gave her. The floors in the rooms are filthy. They are not washed between patients only sweep. We had her removed from there but i could go on.

My aunt is in Normandie Ridge. I think the care is OK and adequate, but they seem to be understaffed. They have activities and bingo, but she doesn't participate. I've had a meal there, and it's good, but she's on a special diet now. The room is clean but minimal, it's pretty much a hospital room. The staff is helpful and cooperative, and they tell me what's going on with her.

Normandie Ridge is nice. The location is fine, good, and handy for the family. The cottages are very nice, and they're building more apartments eventually. They have all the things you would want. It's not any more expensive than any other place these days. It's average because they're all expensive.

We are disappointed in the administration and in the doctor that is assigned to the home-very difficult to get questions answered and the doctor doesn't take their insurance and we can't even pay them out of pocket...refused to give relatives a flu shot!
