Mom was in Wallingford for rehab. It doesn't look very nice, but she loved it there, and she's on round the clock care. The ambiance is quite depressing. We had a problem with the social worker, but they terminated her. Other than that, it was a good experience. They had a physical area, and a dining room where you can go and eat. I thought she got good care.

If you care about your family member do not send here. Rooms where a joke with 4 people stuffed into a small room,. Bath room toilet seat was busted for 2 weeks while my mom was there, bath room light burned out and took them 4 days to get someone to replace the light bulb so they had to use a bath room in the dark. Food service was a joke, 90% of the time the food they served was cold, and she would be missing items on her tray that should of been there, for example she would get a creamer and sweetener for a cup of coffee every day but never received a coffee and the few times they did remember to put a coffee on the tray it was stone cold, some days she would get no drink at all on her tray, They really need someone in there to check on the kitchen staff as well, I mean I know it's not 5 star fine dinning but alot of those meals I wouldn't serve to my dog. Activities well it would of been nice to know about them, my mom was in there 3 weeks and the day before she was being released a person came in to tell her about them, as far as staff goes except for a hand full of people in there that do care about their jobs and the people they are caring for, most of the staff couldn't give a shit about the people in there that needed care. Most days you could hit the nurse button and then wait for an hour before someone would even show up , just tell you that what you asked for or needed help with, was not their job and they'll go get someone , that would take anther 45 minutes or never show up at all. For the 3 weeks I'd visit my mom there every day and it was like being in some horror show. So if you care about your loved ones don't send here or at least be sure to go stay with them every day to make sure they get what they need.

I am a friend of a current patient. When she was admitted her dementia was mild and her physical condition was good. She was admitted back in May of this year. As of October 21, 2023, her physical condition has progressed to a state deplorable. she was taken to the hospital on the 26th of october for Bed Sores, which implies, someone has Not been doing their JOB!!!! Feel so sorry for my friend's mom.

There for a month in late summer. Diabetic with no food available. I lost 20 Lbs! Nurses are temps and very short staffed. Mice in rooms, Beds don't get changed. Good luck calling for a nurse, the send unqualified nurse assistants who conveniently forget to tell nurse you need them. Facility was just sold to Genesis who have a horrible reputation. I feel sorry for anyone who is stuck there like I was. There are better facilities. Call COSA if your loved one or yourself are being mistreated, malnourished and ignored!

NO OVERNIGHT LIGHTS/TV OFF POLICY. THEY ALLOW OTHER PATIENTS TO INFRINGE UPON THE WELL BEING OF WHOEVER MAY BE UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO SHARE A ROOM INCONSIDERATE ROOMMATES.

Top marks for OT and PT .Those therapists measure up to four stars. Five weeks with therapists while bound by a 'fireplug' weight cast and I am HOME. Well done, People!!! Your therapy staff is tops. The aides who handle 95% of hands-on care range from angels to trolls! Name tags, when worn [often upside down] make them incognito. Call bell response is glacial. Food: overcooked mushy vegetables, mystery meat, inevitably served lukewarm. I never want to ever be there again. Thanks Karen, Heather, Caitlyn. Good job.

My father stayed at Wallingford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The room was clean and he shared it with someone else. The people and the staff were nice.

The staff all seemed nice and caring, like they wanted to work there. It seemed like the workers were genuine people that genuinely wanted to help the elderly. The amentities and facilities were also nice. There is a very nice area outside, and the facilities were very clean and well taken care of. Although the facilities looked clean, they did smell pretty awful. I could not get over the smell. The rooms seemed spacious and there were large areas for social gatherings that were also nice. The people already in the home seemed like they enjoyed it there and none of them seemed unhappy. One of the manager/directors gave us a tour, and she was very nice as well. She talked about about all of the activites that were available to get the elderly out of their rooms and socializing which I thought was great. I've never been to another facility so I'm not sure how it compares, but this one certainly seemed like it was well kept, clean, and full of friendly people.
