My mom is presently in Mosser Nursing Home. There are several reasons why we chose this place. The hospital provided a list of places, and this was the closest to our home to see where she lives. It also had one of the higher recommendations. Moving in was great. They were very helpful there. I had a nice long sit-down with the administrator who explained all the processes. Their social worker was very good. She kept in contact with me over the last four or five days. Their contact with the clients was excellent. The facility itself was clean and well- organized. The staff were helpful. I only saw one meal, but it looked good. One of the staffers was helping my mother eat it. She was having a little trouble manipulating the forks and stuff like that. The food looked excellent. I didn't get a good chance to go over their activities. I talked more about physical therapy, but I saw that they had some activities posted on a bulletin board. They had a hairdresser on site, doctors were available, they had a special therapy room, and they had a separate shower room. The room where my mother was in was a nice size, with good closet space, and a TV for every bed. It's excellent for the facilities as well. Medicare is covering it right now, so I don't know their exact cost. Then when Medicare runs out in 20 days, I understand they would check my insurance and said that would pick up the co-pay. But based on the quality of care I saw, I would say it would have to be a good value.

We chose Mosser Nursing Home for mom because it's convenient for our family to get to. It's within ten miles of most of her family. We have had relatives in our family that have been there, so we felt comfortable and familiar with it. She is in skilled nursing care. The staff is very caring and very patient. It's just that the building is kind of dated and old. You can tell that they are shorthanded, but they are doing everything they can to make sure everybody gets the attention that they need. My mom is happy there. She is having more rehab right now. She's not able to get to the activities or anything yet. The layout is very convenient. It's all one floor. There's an outdoor courtyard. It's easy to get around in there.

My mother is in Mosser Nursing Home. It's clean. It does not smell like urine or poop. She has been there for three months now. Any emails I send, they respond right away or they call me. They're very good at getting back to me. And if I talk to my mother and something does not sound right, I check with the caseworker or the nurse, and then they get back to me to clarify it. So they're good that way. She said the food is good. They have activities, but with COVID, I don't think they are practicing like bingo and all that. They don't have any COVID cases now, but I think it's prevention. So what they do is they put a movie on for all the residents to watch in the room, and they also have live entertainment that they broadcast on the TV.
