My mother is currently living in Schoolyard Square. They have everything available for them there. I think they clean the room once a week, or once every two weeks. They prepare three meals a day for them. My mom has that button around her neck that she should fall, she clicks it, and someone comes running. It's all internal. They don't have to leave the building during snowstorms and stuff like that. The price was excellent. They pay a little extra for things like when they need to be taken to a doctor, or get a test. They pay a little extra for that per use. There's a laundromat right in the building that's free, along with these chemicals that they would need to do their laundry. I'm sure it's built into the price. They can have someone do their laundry for a small fee, and they have someone come in to do their hair if they like. It's really, really designed around them. There's not many fancy amenities, there's no pool. There is an exercise room that I think they're going to convert into a dining room. The staffing is great. They really are good people. They do have different things during the holidays, I guess different meals. They are allowed to socialize as freely as they want. They can come and go as they please. They're not locked in. During the COVID, it was a little different, but my mom could leave. I could go pick her up. I couldn't go in the building, but I could pick her up and take her out for lunch, or supper, or whatever I felt like doing. I think they can go down to Stoneridge in Myers town. I think they have a bus that would take them there and use the facilities down there, but I'm not sure if that's still available.

I visited Schoolyard Square. The rooms were very nice and a good size. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of activities going on. They had a library, a nice dining room, and common area.

Schoolyard square WAS a great place. It has been purchased by StoneRidge and things are moving downhill quickly. My father has been there for over two years and had been given wonderful service, and was very well taken care of. Until Stoneridge took over. They gave me a call giving me 30 days to move my dad because he can not ambulate out of the building for a fire drill. They gave me 30 days-in the middle of winter knowing full well that I am his only family and reside out of state. The new providers at Schoolyard Square do not take into consideration their clients or their families. They are not God Based. Not even a little. They are profit based. Just a heads up for others trying to find a place for your parents. I believe they want the apartment my dad is is because they will charge more money for it and they also do not want to pay for skilled nursing. they do not treat the employees very well either.

We love Schoolyard Square! The rooms are homey, with a combo of their furniture and ours. The staff is knowledgeable and goes out of their way to be friendly, empathetic, and kind. Residents on the Dementia/Alzheimer's floor have access to their own garden with gazebo, and the staff works hard to individually engage them. The on site nurses and admin staff help us with doctors, pharmacies, insurance, etc. Appointments for blood drawing are a thing of the past: They can do it right there, and so much more. I never thought we'd find such a wonderful place for our family member.
