I am surprised at some of these reviews. I had a bad fall, broke my hip and damaged my leg. I was in two other facilities for physical therapy, but neither of them lived up to the wonderful physical therapy I received at Monticello. I am now walking comfortably and hopefully won't be using my rollator too much longer. The staff was great, encouraging, and caring. There were daily activities planned, but many residents didn't bother to go. Let's face it, life is what you make it.

Please look elsewhere. The independent living seems nice enough but this is a life care community. Be sure to tour the Monticello House prior to buying in. This is their skilled nursing facility. It is awful. My poor family member was man handled when being moved. No one respects you. The care givers look miserable and have unprofessional conversations with eachother in front of the residents. Such a sad experience overall.

Rehab is a joke. They don’t do what they tell you. Meals are horrible even after talking with the food manager. They tell you what meals they can provide snd then ignore your requests and menu selections which you had been told they could accommodate. When you call they say they will take care of the issue and then never do. They not check on the patients much at all. They are left in their rooms and rarely asked if they need anything. I would not recommend this place for rehab.

I have personally experienced this facility. Our family member was an independent there. And everyone said, don't enter the nursing home. Once you do you can't go back to independent living and it is not a nice place. We got first hand knowledge because we made the mistake. The first thing we noticed was the neglected house keeping. And the staff would tell you yes but never came through. Because they were understaffed. Which would leave the residence neglected. At bath time I saw a very unqualified staff member bath our family member and had to report it.They did have wonderful activities. However I wold highly not recommend this horrible place!

This facility looks good, but just try approaching the CNA's, or Nursing staff. Most are indifferent that tells you a lot about a place. The administrators will give lip service. We have a family member there and they want out everytime we come they asking to be placed somewhere else, we cannot move them at this time due to financial situation. As soon as this changes they will be removed. Our family frequently visit and see other residents get neglected. They will come in and turn out the call light then go elsewhere and tell the resident they will be back. You never see a nursing supervisor. They independent facility is fine but NOT the skilled nursing facility, even the people that live in the independent will tell you not to go to the skilled nursing to go else where! That says a lot.

The place is great if you are independent if you need help with small things you may wait a long time for help. Understaffed, and they really know how to pass the buck. Look else where. Not really sure where, I think they are all like that. Unless administrators are on the floor. Things won't get done.

Although the facility is beautiful & looked like a hotel, I would advise looking beyond the surface. It was grossly understaffed by assistances & RN's. I found my father in urine stained sheets & soaked clothes. We had to fight for him to go to the ER when found diaphoretic & barely responsive. He was admitted directly from the ER to the ICU for sepsis. After speaking with the nursing director she was going to evaluate the situation. Dad was scheduled to go back & a half hour before he was to leave they pulled his bed. They never taught tube feedings to my mother, which was the reason for his admission.
