We knew a family friend that had lived at Bethany Village for years and years. Since we had some personal experience with that place and they loved it, we went and looked at it. Each time they showed me a place, I fell in love with the floor plan. The marketing people were very upfront with how they did things, what I could expect, and what they had available for activities. They were just willing to help in any way that they could. Plus, the cost was the most reasonable of all of the places. You can opt in for the meals. They have dining rooms with three meal plans every day, but I will have a full kitchen when I move there, so I can cook for myself as much as I want. My sister and I had lunch there, and we both had something different, and we were very pleased with each of the sandwiches that we had. They have a well-stocked library, a piano in the building, and people that come in and give different varieties of music concerts. They have a shuttle bus that can take you to and from outside concerts or outside plays. They also have a shuttle bus that runs all day long and takes you from building to building, because they have a West campus and an East campus. They're kind of spread out. You can call and say to go to your door and take you to another. They have the medical office in their complex, but they're close enough to doctors and a hospital. So, I felt comfortable taking my mother and myself there in case something went wrong.

Bethany Village is a very nice place. They had beautiful apartments that were very spacious. They had nice amenities with selections of flooring and layouts. They have the ability to individualize them nicely for the resident's comfort. They had one bedroom and two bedrooms. The bathrooms and laundry rooms were nicely laid out as far as proximity to one another. The staff was very pleasant and informative. She was able to provide answers to any questions that arose.

I was already to sign a contract because Bethany Village was running a very generous incentive. We had agreed to all the terms which included 60 days between signing the contract and the occupancy date. The contract was not ready the day I visited Bethany Village to sign. I had to call up five days later to inquire as to when the contract would be ready. When it was finally handed to me there was a material change to our agreement requiring me to take occupancy in 30 days. The unreasonable timeframe forced me to decline. I had already contacted a realtor and had started making plans.

The tour at Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg was a five. The staff did a wonderful job and she was very pleasant. She showed me everything and talked about what would be required if my mother were to be accepted into assisted living. When you go to that assisted living facility, she informed me that they have a skilled care unit that is right across from the assisted living facility. When you come to assisted living, you go to that skilled care where they evaluate you. Physical therapy evaluates you and the medical staff evaluates you before you go into assisted living. You're there for 2 weeks. That's the only place that talked about that so that's something different. It was fine, I just found that it was so much more expensive than the other ones. I expected that before going in there because I knew that it probably would be. They had a little library room that was very small with just some bookcases and a table and some chairs. It wasn't decorated. The hallways were kind of dreary and a little dark. I just found it to be a little more clinical. I don't know what other word to use. I wanted a homier atmosphere for my mom. That's the only fault I can find. It just didn't attract my eye. The room I saw had some cabinets and a microwave. I don't think it had a stove but it had a sink and a microwave oven. You could fix yourself something in your room if you wanted to but my mother isn't going to be doing any cooking, and I didn't need that. I didn't need to pay extra money for that.

Bethany Village was an older place and the newer apartments were way too expensive. They got everything. Shopping was close by, the hospital was right across the street, and they have doctors' offices onsite, too. The staff was good. However, the homes were only 1,000 square feet, so they were small for us, and they didn't have an open floor plan. They didn't show us any newer ones on the west side because they were just too expensive for us. The apartments seemed to be pretty nice, but we are not interested in an apartment. They have basically everything the other places have, but we weren't interested in the ones that they showed us there. The staff was OK and informative. I just didn't care for the apartments and the homes. They were small.

I am moving into Bethany Village. The room is excellent, I am looking forward to it. The staff are fine, wonderful people, and I know most of them so it's like going home again. They have everything you can imagine. They have a gym, a pool, and exercise facilities. They have a medical facility, a pharmacy and a bank. They also have a bistro that is going to open in February. There's a lot of amenities. In fact, Bethany has been chosen as one of the top 20 in the country. During this Coronavirus, they have been one of the few that has maintained very few cases, if any, compared to some of the others in the area. So they are very cautious, and they are very caring about their residents.

I have been to Bethany Village a few times. They have a dining room where they could choose to go down to or not. They have a bus service if they want to take the bus. They have a driver assistance, too. It is independent, but if you need help, they have help there. They all take them to go out to dinners, sightseeing, or have bingo down in the dining room. People do have to pay for it, reasonable amounts, but they have to pay for some of it. I have been there a couple of times because I have some friends who are in there. The food is very good. The dining is very nice; you can go casual and go to the coffee shop but all of it is very nice.

My in-laws lived here for many years. (They recently moved to an Assisted Living community near us, so are no longer at Bethany). We spent a lot of time with them at Bethany, and we were very happy they were there. The buildings are elegant, clean and easy to navigate. Their apartment was spacious and light-filled, with high ceilings and a beautiful porch. It included two huge walk in closets, two bathrooms, a large laundry room and an easy-to-work-in kitchen. The staff were always helpful, and the activities available were many and varied. The grounds are well kept. My in-laws enjoyed the pool, the wellness center, activities like bridge. There are two restaurants in the building with delicious food. It is great that landscaping, snow removal, maintenance, trash collection, basic cable, and utilities are all included in the monthly fee. When my mother-in-law suffered some health setbacks, having the skilled nursing unit onsite allowed my father-in-law to visit easily. We would recommend Bethany Village to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, healthy and beautiful place to live.

Bethany Village West is the assisted program of Bethany Village. It was almost double the price of the other places I've been to. It was more institutional and very cold. The community is very huge, and the amenities are very nice; they have a pool there that's really nice, but I didn't see the residents interacting with the staff members, and we only dealt with the executive director. The facilities were nice enough, but they treat their assisted living almost like skilled care. I didn't see any groups working together, or anyone in any community rooms. You have to go to the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and still get to interact with other people. It's much more coordinated to be in the assisted living program.

My dad was a resident of the independent living of Bethany Village for several years. It's much older than the assisted living side of the community. I have eaten there, and the food was OK. They have a program called Subscription where you can buy into an apartment or a cottage and pay them. So the difference is that if you're on a subscription when you go to other levels of care, the rate changes by about $15 a day. The buy-in for the subscription was about $150,000 five years ago, so it was too much for my dad. Although they have multiple restaurants there and everything else. He was involved in many things while there, and he was in the water volleyball of the senior Olympics that they do. They did a huge building project, and the new parts of the building are beautiful. The apartments in the independent living are the first apartments they ever had, so they are much older, and not as nice as the ones that were refurbished on the prescription level. My dad initially had a 2-bedroom apartment, then a 1-bedroom, and then he moved to a prescription apartment for a little while. Right now he's in a studio and the spaces are much nicer; they had the carpentry done and everything. I had a lot of problems with their billing area, and some other people just kind of getting into the details, so it's hard to get answers. The overall staff I'd rate a three, but the sales and marketing person, Stephanie, is a five because she really got things done.

My parents are residents of Bethany Village. It's definitely the best community. They're on the expensive side, so that's the only negative thing. The atmosphere is very good, and they have a lot of activities to offer. They have private rooms, and the dining area is excellent. They have all the facilities, nice pool, salon, activities room, restaurants, and a lot of different stuff. The only thing I could think of that they can improve on would be the price. The staff doesn't yell at the patients, it's very quiet and calm as opposed to the chaotic atmosphere other places have.

We visited Bethany Village. The facility and everything was very nice. It was very nice to look at, but we can’t afford it; it was too expensive. The staff was very nice to show us an apartment and show us what a room looked like. Their room was not as big as we would like, but of course we’re downsizing from a house, so we know we have to go to a smaller place.

I can honestly see my uncle living at Bethany Manor. The location is great and I did not mind facility as a whole. My uncle will not only be comfortable but I will too when I come to visit. The staff that I briefly encountered while I was there was extremely friendly and well groomed. I loved the fact that there is a game room available to him as well. He has always been a social butterfly and this allows him to intermingle with the staff and other residents. The outdoor area is a nice escape for him as well. We are interested in the one bedroom and it is such a relief to know that there is a private bath for my uncle. Hi privacy is extremely important to my family. In an attempt to make this experience as much like home as possible we feel that Bethany Manor is first in the running from our choices thus far!

Having visited Bethany Village on many different occasions, I have come to find out what a great enviornment this community provides. The community is comprised of many different apartment like buildings, spanning a half mile range; located in the perfect area for those who are less able to get around easily. This area provides a beautifully kept park and local grocery stores and eateries The community is very well kept; providing great landscape and scenery, and also within the community they provide their residence with a variety of shops needed for basic living if these residence are unable to get to the local shops which surround it. Also, the staff are quite kind and caring with their residence, which I find quite endearing. Though most of the elderly that reside here seem to do well on their own, this community provides quick and easy access at any moment that a residence may need or require help. Overrall, my immpression of Bethany Village is one of high praise and admiration.

I was impressed with the facilities. The staff worked hard at providing a safe, fun and pleasant atmosphere for those living under their care. The rooms were clean, and there were plenty of activities being offered to keep occupants entertained. I was especially happy to see some of the extras offered by Bethany Village. I noticed an arts and crafts station, a nail/hair salon, game room (containing pool table, dart boards, television sets and more), and a state-of-the-art cafeteria. I didn't have an opportunity to sample the food, but I saw no indication that it'd be anything less than tasty. The only negative I have to offer deals with some of the surrounding area to Bethany Village. Though the community itself is beautiful, it neighbors a high traffic street that's rather noisy. Also, the parking lots are poorly designed; however, that's hardly worth complaining about. Though poorly designed, my family had no real difficulty coping with it.
