This is the nicest nursing home in Chambersburg. It's like walking into a fine hotel. They have activities going on all day. The meals are wonderful. Always cleans and smells wonderful. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

I had an in-person tour of Penn Hall at Menno-Haven. The staff members were very caring. It's close to home. They have activities. They keep the residents busy. They play cards. They paint and play games. They take them out if the weather is nice. The meals looked appetizing. They seemed to do a good job with their cafeteria. They have exercise areas and outdoor sitting spaces. They had very nice apartments. I saw a one-bedroom apartment, and it had a kitchenette. They have shuttles, like some type of small bus.

Penn Hall is a most beautiful and caring facility for the elderly. They have cottages to a nursing home right on the premisises. You are evaluated and can start at the cottages and then to assistive living and finally to the nursing home ffacility. The staff was extra speacial and treated us like family. They thought of everything from food to exercise to mental health. You name it and they handled it. I would highly recommend Penn Hall. The grounds are breathtaking with all brick buildings and 100 year old maple trees and flower gardens. They also had a bank and grocery shop and a beauty salon right there for the residents. They also had bus tours on certain days they would go to certain places for lunch or the movies or shopping, it was great because of the winter months and the road conditions, we did not have to worry about them driving. When it came to the end of life for them, the staff was outstanding, Hospice was called in and they were outstanding as well. They would also have a weekly meeting with about 8 staff members that knew the resident and were caregivers and they would ask us for any input of care given. It was amazing.

My grandmother's experience with the Penn Hall facility has been very positive. Her health is declining, but she remains very active in social groups and the community, and living at Penn Hall has allowed her to maintain her independence and still have help readily available should she need it. That she has the option to move into the associated assisted living or nursing facility if she comes to a point in her life when she needs help taking care of herself is also a relief to her and her family. In addition, the retirement community is clean, well groomed, and peaceful. It is also conveniently located near downtown Chambersburg, so it is easy to enjoy the restaurants and shops without needing to go far. I am impressed every time I visit with the layout of the cottage. It is small, but airy and well designed, and even with all of her children and grandchildren over for thanksgiving brunch, doesn't feel cramped.

Visited this home several times in a professional capacity. It was always very neat clean and the residents were very happy. I spoke to one lady who lived here and she said that the residents for the most part were very nice and she felt like she was at home. They are very sensitive to the needs of the aging population but at the same time respected their independence. The staff I encountered here were friendly and helpful.
