My husband was at Kirkland Village. He got good care but it's very pricey. He was there for rehab. They were good; they treated him well. He was clean, and his room was always kept nice. I can't complain about anything there. The staff was friendly. They were good and they were professional. They had activities, but my husband didn't want to take part in any of them; he was in a wheelchair. I know one time I went to his room, and he wasn't there. When I went out to the nurse's station, they said, "Oh, he's around here somewhere in his wheelchair," and then I found him. He was way down at the other end of the hall. They're a little high end. I can't say that they're not worth it, but the staff where I'm sending him now work just as hard there as they do at Kirkland, and yet the cost is a lot less. I didn't feel that the care he received there was any better than the care that I know he's going to get at the other place.

I found Kirkland Village encouraging. They have a wonderful health program. They have a pool and a wonderful exercise facility. I think those were key things that I would look forward to. They have multiple dining areas from informal to formal, and I got a chance to experience two of them, and they were lovely. The staff was knowledgeable. Surprisingly, the first time I visited, we didn't have an appointment. My wife and I just walked in and bumped into a couple who were residents there and they were going to take us to the sales office. Then one of them said, "Let me take you on a tour." Then she took us on a lovely tour of the whole facility and invited us back to their apartment. So, that was the first tour, it was with a resident and it was great. When we went back a second time, we had the staff, and they did a really good job as well.

Would not recommend this for anybody in the world. My family member developed severe diarrhea while in this rehab facility and was left sitting in her own feces 4x in one day until we finally brought her to the hospital. They have a 14:1 ratio and never answered her call button. Furthermore, she mainly went for rehabilitation services and was told she would receive 2 hours a day, but only received 40 minutes per day. Overall terrible experience to think this is where we have to turn to get help for our loved ones when we can’t help them ourselves.

My husband was admitted on a Monday for some short term rehabilitation with walking. The following Monday, he was dead. I couldn't visit because it was during the pandemic but I spoke with him on the phone several times a day. There were times he didn't sound well at all and he was confused. I reported this several times to the administration and I am aware of only one time that they checked on him. His main cause of death on his death certificate was pneumonia. How could they miss this? I assume by not paying attention.

We went through Kirkland Village. The rooms were nice and spacious. It's more like a studio room with a bathroom and refrigerator. It was clean and well-kept. The rest of the building was pretty. The residents seemed okay. I didn't see too many residents there, but the ones that I did see were fine, seemed happy and content. It was pretty quiet when I was there. There was something about the place that was good. The staff was very good and attentive. She answered a lot of questions, and she was very informative. They have too many hallways and not enough open spaces for socialization. They have the dining room. I mean, overall, it was nice.
