My husband was at Country Meadows Nursing Center of Bethlehem. We chose them because they had skilled nursing there, which he needed. A lot of the places said would give him some rehab, but it wasn't a skilled nursing facility. There are Country Meadows in other places, but there was only one that was skilled nursing and that was the one in Bethlehem. He was there for two weeks. I have nothing else to compare it to, but I thought they were great. The staff was very responsive to him. They took care of him. They gave him treats in the evening if he wanted something. They always brought extra things, anything he wanted. The food was spectacular. He had a great variety to pick from. It was always hot. It was filling. There was plenty of food and it was good. It was like a home-cooked meal. Their chef or whoever they have there did a beautiful job. They had a calendar of events for every day, for every hour almost. Anything he wanted to go to, they would get him there if he couldn't get there on his own. They had someone when he first came in to ask about his interests, what they could get him involved in, and if there was anything specific he wanted to be involved in, whether it was anything from gardening to crafts to politics to music, whatever. They had a wide variety of activities if you were interested in them. The facilities were just wonderful. Getting around was very easy. The only thing I can say is that you are mixed up with people who have more cognitive problems than someone who's there just for rehab. On the whole, the patients were very well cared for. He went in under Medicare and everything was paid for.

My dad was at Country Meadows Nursing and Rehab Center. For cleanliness, overall it's pretty clean. They could have improved on some things. They only gave him one shower in the 14 days that he was there. I had to do it another time. They weren't very efficient with having him go to the bathroom. I had to do it a couple of times. I don't know if it was over the holiday that they were short-staffed. His experience wasn't the best there. The rooms are pretty decent size. They had a big open area for them to go eat, and then an area where they got together and could do puzzles and stuff like that. Some of the staff were rude. I went in one day and there was poop on the floor and the toilet and I had to go and tell them to have somebody come in and clean it. And then the girl was like blaming my dad for saying that he did it. He didn't even use the bathroom. So, it's very unprofessional in my opinion.

Country Meadows Nursing Center is very, very excellent. They go right into rehab, and they got my husband up and walking with a walker. The physical therapists are excellent, and the occupational and speech therapists are excellent. So I highly recommend it, they're very good all the way around. I'm sitting out on the front porch right now, there are these giant pedestals, there's an atrium, and it's just beautiful. It's just extraordinary. I just don't want people to know about it because I want it all to ourselves. My husband needs help to see the telephone and answer it at night, and at night they don't have anybody doing desk work. So it's a little hard to reach him at night. That's the only criticism I have, the rest of the time, it's just fantastic. We have UnitedHealthcare medicare advantage covering it. It's a little hard to get a haircut or go to their salon, you have to be on the waiting list. But everything else is great. It's not a resort, but it's very elegant, so it's still very good.

I didn’t like the general walkthrough at Country Meadows. There were people sitting outside their room in a chair in a hallway. I didn’t notice any kind of planned activities. The hallways are a little on the dark side.

Much pride is shown at this facility. My wifes stepmom has been there and when we visit it`s always a pleasant one. The staff is wonderful and very willing to help us out with what ever we need. They do so much with the residents there keeping them busy and lively. Great place to consider if the need arises.
