My father has moved into Country Meadows Retirement Communities. It's a beautiful place. His apartment is beautiful, and he's by himself. He had a rough start, but it's going OK now. The staff is very good. They do singing, they have scheduled drives, and they go to dine-out places and stuff like that, but he hasn't done any of that yet. The dining area is fine.

Country Meadows Retirement Communities was very nice. The person that gave me the tour of the memory care was very knowledgeable. It was the biggest facility that I viewed, but the buildings, grounds, and interiors were all top-notch. The staff was very good, too.

I toured Country Meadows Retirement Communities. The facility layout was very nice and open. It was very bright and modern looking. There seemed to be staff readily available to help. They offered different people to entertain and break up the monotony of the day, which was very nice. They had a conference room where you could have a birthday party or an event with your loved ones. If somebody is visiting from out of town, you can all get together in the conference room setting and they can order food for you. That was a very nice feature, too. They're excellent. The people there provided me with a meal to sample, and the food was very good. They have a separate building for the sales office. So that was nice, you could talk without interruption. The management on duty stopped and said hello and asked if everything was okay. They had a nice coffee shop there. It's immaculate. Everything is top-notch. Parking was good and convenient, too.

Stay away, Sales Department aka Marketing Department is full of dishonest people who incorrectly and conveniently over charge residents. Talking to the campus manager is a waste of time. Communication between departments is nonexistent. Too expensive for the lack of services they provide. It’s all about the bottom line and quotas when a company is this big. It’s not about the facilities or care.

Country Meadows Retirement Communities has the memory care that my mom needs and they seem to be well staffed. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. The place is very nice, very homey and very clean. All of the activities and things are done in the center of the building with two halls running on either side, so I thought they had a good system of putting a community place in the center. My mother has only been there for a few days, but I saw that they do some art activities, some singing and games. They also have dentists and doctors that come in, a salon, a nice patio, and an enclosed outdoor area for walking. So far, they've been working with her very well.

The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. They treat the residents like family. The facility is clean and there are variety of sized apartments, where other places are the same size. There is one for your needs and the staff will work with you to fit your needs and income. Meals are good and plentiful. The community is comfortable, plenty of activities and residents thrive in the atmosphere. My dad lived alone in a big house and now that here is here, he wished he had move sooner.

We went to Country Meadows Retirement Communities. It was very nice. The apartments are very nice, they're very well equipped. It's a little different, it has a different layout. It was very nice, but just not as homey and not as comfortable as the other place. The staff was fine, she was very welcoming. It's older but clean and well kept. They have a salon, a chapel, and they have activities.

I toured Country Meadows Retirement Communities twice. My parents are used to upscale living, and they provided that. The interactions I've had with the staff were great. I noticed that when we were touring the facility, they knew everybody's name. They knew people by name so that impressed me. It was very clean, it was well cared for inside and out. It just popped, and it almost looked more like an upscale hotel than an assisted living facility. When it comes to the rooms, they had several different styles to choose from and in different sizes and varieties. So you get a good pick. Everything wasn't the same, there were several different options. I saw their menu and I inquired, they have their own chef. They don't bring in an outside food vendor, and that's important also.

I visited Country Meadows - Allentown. Everything was good. They do pretty much what everybody else is doing, like house cleaning, linens, meals, and activities. It's pretty standard. They were playing indoor bocce at that time.

We chose Country Meadows of Allentown for my Mother almost 4 years ago because of the professionalism of the marketing staff, the many activities that are offered and the various floor plans offered. We definitely made the right decision. The entire staff is caring and compassionate. Mom was recently hospitalized and when she came home I had the pleasure of experiencing life at Country Meadows 24/7 as she needed a lot of assistance. Again the staff was excellent, often going above the call of duty. Kudos to all. Activities coordinators, wait staff in the dining room, and those who prepare food, housekeeping, clergy, and maintenance department. Pastor Diane has helped me personally through some trying times. Couldn’t ask for a more compassionate and empathetic person. Kathy, Mom’s housekeeper always keeps her apartment very clean. She is professional and personable. Executive Chef Ed Galgon is constantly striving to create new and exciting dishes to the menu. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude to Wendy Balik who keeps the facility running like a fine tuned car. She oversees the daily operation of this facility with all she has. I sleep well at night knowing that Mom is in the best hands that the Lehigh Valley has to offer.

My mother was in independent living at Country Meadows - Allentown for four years and I would rate that very highly. She went from independent living to assisted living and the price jumped dramatically with all the extra care added. We also put her in their skilled nursing when she broke her ankle. It's a campus with four buildings. The two buildings are independent living, one is assisted living, and one is called Pathways, which is between assisted living and skilled nursing. When she was in the independent living, she had a one-bedroom apartment with a living room and a full kitchen. The staff was fantastic. The food was gourmet. Everything was wonderful there. As far as activities went, one person couldn't fit everything into a day. There was always something going on. You get what you pay for.

Country Meadows was the largest population place, so everything was big. It is all in one floor; it is spread out. It is a little more rural, so there's a lot more grass around it and what-not. It gives you a feel that you're in a town. There were people playing crafts, puzzles, scrabbles and they had a game room. There were also lots of people gathered in the dining room. The units were about the same square-footage as anywhere else. It was a bit pricey than others, but they offered two meals a day. The public areas were large, the dining area looked like a big grand dining room, and the foyers were bigger. I saw more people because of the population size.

Country Meadows of Allentown was excellent. I would love to live there if I could afford it. They had all kinds of activities, took people places, had an exercise class, and did a lot of different things. We were invited there to have dinner with them, and the food was excellent. It was like a buffet with so much variety, and you could pick whatever you want. The staff did an excellent job touring us. They were nice and came around to the tables to see if we were happy or if they could do anything. We loved everything, except for the price.

My dad is at Country Meadows of Allentown, and so far, it has been very good. The staff is friendly and competent. He is in a secured unit, and he really gets diligent care. They also do activities like they go out to lunch, outings, do crafts, and music; they keep the residents occupied. He is very happy with the place, and I would gladly recommend the place.

My parent has lived in Independent Living, Assisted Living and the Alzheimer's unit. All the rooms were quite large and fit much furniture. I can't even explain how great the staff is. They care so much about the residents and work very hard . They frequently have new protocols for how to better care for residents. When going to doctor visits we are often told things like "Oh, Country Meadows, they are excellent at wound care." ( or whatever care we are discussing that parent needs) Food is great, lots of activities and they encourage my parent to participate.

At Country Meadows, their independent and assisted living were in the same section, so, if my mother moved from independent to assisted living, she would still be living in the same one-bedroom apartment. The apartments were very big and lovely, so we liked them even more, and my mother met other people there who had similar interests. She is Pennsylvania-Dutch and she met a woman, who spoke Pennsylvania-Dutch, so they spoke together. Then, I found out that they give Pennsylvania-Dutch lessons there, and my mother would love that. It’s definitely a possibility and closer to where she lives. We loved the staff and didn’t eat the food, but it smelled wonderful. They have ice cream and snacks all of the time, so you just go and help yourself. They also have a lot of activities and charity events. I think she would be happier there because it’s closer to her church and to the people that she knows.

Country Meadows of Allentown have a very good independent living program, but assisted living is very poor. My parents do not get the care they need. They do not have the proper amount of training or amount of staff. The apartments are very nice. The only complaint I get from my parents is that it is a little too fancy for that age group. I would not recommend their assisted living to anyone.

Thank you for your note. We are very proud of our team at Allentown and are concerned with your comments. Please share these points with our Executive Director so we can address the situation and make things right. Just FYI-every co-worker, whether full-time or part-time, is required to complete a large amount of training, and additional opportunities are available to them to help advance their careers. If you notice someone on our team who might need a bit more education, please share that with a member of our management team.

We have a lot of friends at Country Meadows of Allentown. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the room in their assisted living facility. They have small rooms, and the money you have to put down is very high. The facility is beautiful. They have all kinds of speakers, and they show movies. They have a 6" TV set in each one of the building lobbies.

Thank you for your comments. We are very proud of our beautiful community and have completed several major renovation projects in the last few years. As an all-rental retirement community, Country Meadows has a very low fee when residents move in compared to larger CCRC communities with a large buy-in cost. Please stop in for another visit when you are in the neighborhood.

Excellent community. Separate buildings designed for different levels of care. Sectioned rooms for dementia patients. All faculty nice and smiling, patient and encouraging to the residents to remain as independent as possible. Many activities offered along with outside of the facility events, such as a trip to a Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs game. The care providers are rarely off their feet, always moving to complete some task to assist the residents. Staff is knowledgeable in all affairs. Food is fair quality. Staff makes their best attempt to meet all the needs of the residents. For example, most residents receive their own room. However, one couple requested a single room and they were graciously granted the room together. Moreover, the staff also assist the residents for their end of life procedures, such as creating a book that relays the resident's life to his/her friends and family. All in all, a great place to work and live as made possible by the dedicated staff of Country Meadows.

My brother has the power of attorney to decide for my grandmother. He chose this facility over the others because he thinks she's better safer in there. The surroundings are beautifully kept and the inside is clean. The staff are very helpful and kind. My grandmother has Alzheimer's but she still converse with the residents there. I can't think of anything that this facility needs to improve, its already very good.
