I live at Cedarbrook Allentown. I've been here for seven years now. The best thing I like is that I can come and go when I want. And the least I like is there is no individual activity. There's no jogging room or things like that. There's a room where we can go and do crossword or jigsaw puzzles and stuff like that, but we can't do any bicycling, treadmill, and stuff like that. They don't have that here. The staff is fantastic. You have to buy the food, but I don't get the food from here. The apartments are very small. It's what they call efficiency, and it's like a dorm. It's very clean.

We looked at the independent living of Cedarbrook Nursing Home, but they have assisted living there too. I think it's very safe. It's clean and secure. It's right in a beautiful part of Arlington, where you can go to a lot of places and things. It's got good amenities like the community room that's there. It's pretty close to the nursing home, so there's activities there that they could be a part of. You also get meals if you want to pay for it. It's 30-40 years old, so it's not as modern as it could be. Everything's beige, but it's nice. The meals are not included for independent living, but you could get those extra. It's like a county home, so they don't dismiss you because you have too much money and help you if you don't have enough money. It sounds like a wonderful plan, and I really applaud them for doing it. The facilities are well-built, nice, and clean; no bells and whistles.

My father-in-law was in Cedarbrook Nursing Homes. It's a county home, it doesn't have amenities, and it's fairly big. He was in the dementia unit. It's clean, the staff was five stars, they had a lot of staff members, and they were very attentive. The food was mediocre at best, and the facility needed a fresh look. He should have been in assisted living. He received physical therapy, occupational therapy, and their reputation was good.

My mother is in Cedarbrook Nursing Home. She has been there before, so I decided to let her stay there now. Everything is very nice, and I am really happy with it. The dining room and the food are nice. She enjoys everything. They have a nice selection. If you don't like what they are serving that day, you can pick something different. It is a very nice experience. The rooms can be a little bigger, but everything is clean. They have bingo, music shows, and crafts for them to do. They keep them busy. I think the staff is phenomenal. Everybody is very helpful, very considerate, and very kind. I am really impressed by that.

My father has been in here for almost a year. My mom had just died, he had to have surgery, and the last place he wanted to go was to a nursing home! But he has some dementia and couldn't stay at either my brother's or my own house. He just kept wandering and didn't understand he couldn't go for walks like he used to. So, we had to do what we didn't want to do. It still isn't easy seeing him there, but they take wonderful care of him, it's very clean, and they really do care about the people that stay there. He is finally feeling like it is his home. He gets to talk to other people there and can go around in his wheelchair to all the large areas on his floor. There are also several large rec rooms with huge windows he can look out of. With all the trees there it seems like you're in the country, which is where he lived most of his life. He's on the fourth floor and they have an outdoor terrace with tables, tomato plants, and flowers in the summer. He still feels like he living on the farm! We are so pleased with him being there and the good attention he gets!

My father, for a couple of years, was at Cedarbrook and it was an excellent place. The staff were very attentive and they took very good care of my father.

The staff is very friendly, the facility is clean and the employees are hygienic and caring. The amenities are more than expected and employees are always willing to help our family to care for the resident. All employees are nice and never rude. The facility offers many programs for the residents and keeps them busy in their down time. Our family really enjoys this facility because we would not be able to take care of our grandmother the way she is taken care of here. Cedarbrook County Home is a great facility that has wonderful staff and goes above and beyond what is expected to make sure the residents and their families feel comfortable there.
