I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Avamere is full of great and positive staff :). It’s clean , being remodeled to be very spiffy looking and full of wonderful residents. I highly recommend you call and ask for Angela if you considering Avamere for your loved one. She is fun, welcoming , knowledgeable, and truly cares! I just can’t say enough about her.

I visited this facility

I have toured Avamere At Sandy, and my name is on the list. It was very good, and I'm very impressed with their remodeling. I'll have a studio because I'm on Medicaid. The staff took us on a tour of one floor. It has elevators. It's very clean, and everything looks really good. They have a lovely dining room. They have different rooms for different things. They have a TV room, a coffee bar, an ice cream bar, a snack thing that you can go to any time, and several different nice things. They have washers and dryers on each floor, which I like. They even have a handwashing sink, and I like that feature very well, too. The staff was very professional and very nice. He took us on a tour, and we used the elevator. He pointed out how the rooms were situated, and he showed us how the washer and dryer work. He was very knowledgeable. He was just the nicest person, and he showed us everything and what they were doing. You can see the colors that they're doing the walls and the furniture and everything. It's very clean and very friendly. I couldn't ask for a better place. They serve three meals a day. It's a lovely place. I like it. The menu sounds wonderful, and they have a very good cook.

I visited this facility

I went to the Avamere at Sandy last week. It was clean and friendly. The staff was friendly, and our tour guide seemed knowledgeable. They have very nice grounds and a very nice patio. The upkeep looked adequate and fine, with no problems. It was a good location relative to where I live.

Other

In July of this year I had to place an elderly aunt into a memory care facility. Being from out of state we were very concerned about finding at minimum a clean place with adequate care. My wife found Avamere at Sandy Oregon , the state my aunt resides, and contacted Susan in admin, nice, polite, helpful and she had a place for my aunt. A few weeks after contacting Susan we met and got a look of the facility, Far more than what we expected, very clean, great security and outgoing staff, who have been more than willing to help. At this time we could not set her room up due to covid so the staff, (Susan again, set it up very tastefully and sent pictures to us. My aunt is one of those folks who seems to be unhappy all the time and still would like to be back in her old place, but always tells us that the people taking care of her treat her very well. She never complains about the food and has gained a good deal of weight, which was needed. The staff keeps us well informed of any problems or concerns and is more than helpful when we call into them. We live over 200 miles away and have to come in to get my aunt to doctor appointments and take care of other business for her every couple of weeks. She is always clean, dressed and ready for us on time and never a wait for someone to receive her when we return. We cannot say enough good about Susan, Alex, Deb, Amy and the other staff members at this facility. they are the best, far more than we hoped for.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was a resident of the assisted living side for close to 7 years and then 3 months on the Arbor before her passing in April. On the assisted living side she had a studio apartment which was wonderful. It was always clean, tidy, and absolutely felt like her home. We hung photos and staff were incredibly interested in her as a person; her history, her family, and respected and comforted her. On the Arbor, we hung photos, the room was safe, clean, and welcoming. Staff are phenomenal. Their interactions with my mom were always caring, loving, respectful and genuine. Mom enjoyed "happy hour", luncheons, the music and enjoyed the sunshine on the terrace. Avamere offered many more opportunities than my mom partook in; however, the beauty parlor and Taylor were great, she had her nails done routinely (which was important to her) and always felt included. When mom entered into the hospice program 2 weeks prior to her passing, the staff continued to be loving and respectful. Mom passed when I wasn't in town and the staff FaceTimed with me twice a day. Mom looked neat, safe, and comfortable. What my brother and I wanted most was for mom to be comfortable and respected. I couldn't have asked for any more. Avamere of Sandy is just not family, and they treated my mom and my family just that.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We chose Avamere at Sandy for my mom and she is there now. It's very good. It's a good place for her. She does have a roommate, which was a surprise, but it has worked out OK. Her room just seems very small. There's a community of people there and they kind of gather outside in the common area most of the time, but I don't think she spends a lot of time there. I've been there while she's eating and the food looks very good. She likes it, so that's the main thing. They have a variety of things, but she's not very active in that regard. The staff is very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very caring, so I'm really very impressed.

We chose Avamere for my sister, and she has moved in already. She has been in there for about three weeks now. They are terrific. They painted her room before she moved in, and the place is really spotless clean. It's a great place to live.

I visited this facility

We toured Avamere at Sandy, and I was impressed with the place; it seemed very nice. It was a very good tour and very instructional. They gave us some opportunities for questions, and they were very open and knowledgeable. They showed us different sample rooms, smaller studio size, 1 and 2 bedrooms, and it’s all well-lit. We also saw the dining room and went to the memory wing as well.

I visited this facility

Avamere at Sandy is a very nice place. Everything is there, but I don’t think it's a right fit for my mom because the need that she has. It's also very expensive. The rooms are medium-size and unfurnished but very clean. The whole facility is very clean. It's a three-story building, and with my mom's condition, I think she would get lost because she can't see. The staff is wonderful.
