My wife is at Monterey Court Memory Care. The place has been fine. It's just so expensive. It's a nice, quiet, small place compared to a lot of places that I looked at that are bigger and more for retirement people and not so much for memory care. It's very nice. They have a salon, but I notice it's not open at the moment. It's very clean. They just put in new furniture. The room my wife is in has just been remodeled. There's nothing there to complain about.

I liked the way Monterey Court Memory Care was set up. It was very comfortable. The residents looked happy and relaxed. I liked the mood. It kept them busy. I liked the staff a lot. They were just farther from where I live. They had some outside places.

I toured Monterey Court Memory Care. The director was very informative. She's a very caring person and just answered the questions with positive feedback as to how she presented herself. The only three people that I saw were smiling faces. They do have outdoor space. They have a nice little patio section. They have residents that do the gardening out there. It's a stand-up kind of wall-like area where they have their gardening set going. It's a nice display and then you can take a little walk and I stretch around the building part. They do have a book room. I saw some books. It's like a slash library-community section for the folks. It was a little dark there. They only have 25 or 27 residents. It's small. They're doing some remodeling. The room that my mom shared is nice. It was more of a Jack and Jill type of area, as well as the bathroom that they would share with a shower. They'd have their own little sink in their room. I like that idea, it was a nice setup.

Monterey Court is wonderful and they take very good care of my husband, although it is very expensive. It's beautiful and the staff is loving and caring. They're wonderful and so patient. It's a locked facility, but they do have an outside courtyard. My husband says the food is great. They have all kinds of crafts and field trips for those who are able to go outside. They have something going on all the time and they try to keep them busy. They have lots of staff.

I wanted my mom to be somewhere where she would be happy, so I got her in Monterey Court. Most of the people there seem happy and content too. The staff members are good. There are young people that work there too. They're taking good care of her. The food is OK. My mom seems to like it. They serve vegetables with each meal, and that's good. I have had some trouble there where things disappear, i.e., my mom's clothes, books, and shoes. There is one resident there, and I know she's part of the disease. She thinks that my mom's stuff is her stuff, and that has been a problem. However, they're really trying to keep that lady from taking my mom's stuff. Monterey Court has four different sections. Each section has 12 rooms. Sometimes they have one person working in each section, which doesn't seem great. They should have at least two staff to a section. Also, this one girl is on her phone all the time. When my mom moved in, they advertised six hours of structured activities, but I have never seen one. Sometimes they do arts and crafts or toss a ball around.
