We were residents of Forest Glen. We chose this place because we lived close by and that was the easiest facility for us to move into at that time. We were there for about over a year. The facility was fine; we were very content with it. There, we had two rooms and a bath. The staff was very good. For activities, they were pretty typical. They had checkers, cards, bingo, and so on. I liked their food. What I probably like best about this facility was its location because I like Oregon better.

Today I held an activity at forest glen I was very moved with how kind all the staff was especially the kitchen staff. I stayed for lunch and was so impressed with how good the food was!! I can eat a lot but I couldn't finish my meal. There was so much food on my plate. The entire downstairs smelled like fresh bread baking which was coming from the kitchen. The chef was very nice lady and serving staff was very attentive and kind. I visit 5 different states working in retirement community and this was the best lunch I've ever eaten in a retirement community. The activities director was very involved with residents. I was very impressed with my visit/activity today!!! I met some wonderful residents and would definitely place a loved one here!!!

I lived in Forest Glen for approximately a year. During the time I resided there it has gone downhill in almost every area. The building is very old and they have very little money to maintain it. The elevator is constantly breaking down forcing very old people to walk up several flights of stairs. The food went from adequate to very bad. It is usually poorly prepared and they have cut the servings down dramatically in an effort to save money. If you can't afford to buy supplemental food you will probably get used to going to bed hungry. Due to very poor management there is a constant turnover in employees and most do a very poor job. There are a few good ones who have been there awhile but most of the good employees have gotten disgusted and left. The manager, Louise is not fit to manage a lemonade stand. She cares very little for the residents who live there and even less for the employees. I would not recommend this facility for anyone except the truly desperate who have no other options.

I used to live in Forest Glen for four years. I had a very small room there that I would bump into everything. At first it was good but then it started to go downhill, all the employees and even the food. Their food was always cold and I had to microwave it. They also charged me for delivering my food to my room. They also don't offer much. They take people to the store and that was about it. Residents here would pick fights with me and I just got tired of that.

We are very happy with Forest Glen. It was the best bet all the way around for us. The staff is very loving and caring and they treat us with tremendous respect. The other residents are fantastic people as well. It's a park-like setting, located right off of the main highway, but far enough from any traffic or noise. There are many activities to help keep us occupied. They give us three meals a day and we get to choose what we eat, just like a restaurant! We don't even have to cook or clean or do dishes anymore! The biggest benefit for us is that we now have help for my wife. The staff was also so helpful in helping me find a place nearby where I can continue to enjoy a long time hobby of mine. The medical staff from the second floor is very knowledgeable and we appreciate their help when they can. Considering cost, the staff, and the environment overall, I highly recommend Forest Glen.
