Rooms are o.k Food is stingy ( 1/2 a sandwich not a whole one). Turn over of staff is about 80%. Never a full staff. Directors........the last one had to be escorted out of the place. The upper management just doesn't care. Neither does the health district. Clatsop Retirement Village is not a place your loved ones thrive.

Clatsop Care Retirement Village is very nice. The tour was very good. The staff spent a lot of time and showed me several different options (in other words, the sizes of the apartments that I might choose between). The community is very nice. I think it's one of the newer ones. I don't recall how long it's been there, but it is very nice and nicely kept. The one who took me on a tour spent a lot of time with me and answered all my questions. She did a very good job. I didn't try their food, but they gave me a menu thing that they have for what days and different things like that. I didn't eat there or anything, but it looked like everybody there was happy with it. The upkeep and cleanliness were very good. I liked it.

I ruled Clatsop Retirement Village out because it's too small, however my visit was very nice and the people were great. They were very helpful and showed me all around. The place was nice except it's not to my specifications. I needed something that's a little bit different. I wanted a 2-bedroom and they did not have it. Otherwise, it was a nice area, it has a nice setting, and has very nice people. They also had 1-bedrooms and studios.

My brother moved here a month ago. So far, so good. The administration is helpful and friendly and the staff seem to be involved with the residents.

I have put my name in at Clatsop Retirement Village. It's the only one with high recommendations, and I have friends living there now. I like the service, cleanliness, activities and the studio facility that I put my name in for is very comfortable. I'm quite happy with their menu. There are choices. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments. They conduct trips and do activities. They seem to be quite busy.

I was very apprehensive about having my grandpa join any sort of retirement community; the news rarely says anything good about them. However this place was clean, well kept and well managed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and according to my grandpa, the other residents were welcoming and kind. He was happy there, and I'm glad that he was in a place where he had trained staff around in case he needed medical assistance.

The goal of care in a nursing home is to help individuals meet their daily physical, medical, social, and psychological needs in which I feel is met by all.Nursing Home residents not only receive assistance with all activities of daily living but also can receive specialized care for more advanced health issues such as: Assistance with complex medications, Injections or IV's, Wound Care, Incontinence, Transfer assistance - mobility, Catheters, Ventilator, Rehabilitation and more.Their food is above standard and close to town where many other options await. Many good area restaurants offer fresh seafood as well as sophisticated menus. As you drive along the town's roads, your eyes will be treated to competing views - the ocean's pounding surf, fishing vessels, and large and beautiful homes in the quiet surrounding of Astoria.
