My sister has moved in. It's a pretty new facility. It's only 5 or 6 years old. It served our purpose. I met some of the staff, and they seemed very nice and very friendly. The staff showed me some of the activities, but I didn't really get into that because I was just trying to find her a place where she could recoup and do whatever she's going to do.

Unlike other Memory Care communities which are normally a "wing" in a much larger community, Iris Memory Care offers specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care in a residential setting. Advanced research has shown that those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia thrive in a small, intimate environment, therefore our home-like model lends itself to maintaining each resident’s health, happiness, and freedom of movement.

We had an in-person tour of Iris Memory Care of Nichols Hills. It was an excellent visit. The facility was very clean. It looked like there was plenty of help in every option that you would need to care for someone. The people we spoke to were very nice and cordial. It was laid out very nicely and in such a way that they gave optimum health care as needed. The rooms were very clean and well-organized. The outdoor area was clean, all cemented, and wheelchair accessible.

Our experience with Iris Memory Care of Nichols Hills was good. They were polite, nice, and informative, but once we started discussing finances, we noticed that it was way out of our price range, so we didn't go very far with it. It was a nice living area. They were doing some arts and crafts and stuff.

It was an older building. The staff was nice. It was too far from my home. It was a 30-minute drive from my house. The rooms were smaller. They had furniture if you needed furniture or you could bring your own. The dining room was pretty small. They had activities. I didn't see anyone doing activities when I was there because I was there at mealtime, so they had already done activities and were getting ready for lunch. So I don't know what kind of activities they were doing.

It was a new facility, and it was nice and clean. The staff was very, very helpful. We got a complete tour, and they gave us a book on how to help a person with Alzheimer's. They were just very welcoming and very helpful, and they introduced us to a bunch of different people. The only reason why I didn't give them a 5 is the property was kind of next to a busy street and also residential areas were right behind it, so it was just kind of tight to get into as far as parking.

I visited and they were great and the person who showed us the facility was also great. It was a very nice visit and informative. The people were great, it was a great tour, we got all the information we needed, and they followed up with us. However, there were a lot of people in a lot of areas to care for.

It was really nice and looked well equipped for memory care, which impressed me. They had a beauty shop. It looked like they had a lot of activities for the residents to keep them busy.

They showed us around. They gave us some homemade cookies. They were really good, and they seemed very nice and caring. It's a locked down facility, so they can't get out, which is good because my mother-in-law wanders. The staff was very nice. The rooms were more like hospital rooms. The dining room is kind of small. I don't think they all go to dining, because they're not all ambulatory. It's secure, and the people were nice. One thing that impressed me was they have meetings or support groups for their patient's families and other families, too. I don't think they have a whole lot of activities. I know they had movie nights and they were popping popcorn. And they're trying to get people to come out of their rooms and watch movies just to get them socialize a little bit. It was more hospital-like than an assisted living center.
