I toured a lot of places before picking Dorset Place for my cousin. My decision was based off of the knowledge of the sales lady, the friendly staff, and the residents I encountered during the tour. Everyone I crossed paths with during my tour interacted with me in some way or another, staff and residents alike. The building was clean, and the atmosphere was bright and homey. Very pleased with my choice to move my loved one into this community as it has provided her with some quality of life which can be hard to obtain with alzheimers

I would highly recommend Dorset Place - MC. I would love to put my husband there, but they won't take an ileostomy. It was an older facility but they were planning on doing upgrades. The price was more resident-friendly. The place was clean. The rooms were separated and they were very nice. They had a lot of room for two people. It seemed like the people that worked there were very friendly. They always introduce themselves to us. The people in the lunchroom were serving lunch. They knew what different people liked. Some of them drink water with their lunch, some of them drink tea, and some of them drink water at room temperature. They were very knowledgeable about that. The people that I met were very nice. They had a beautiful entrance that was a room for people to come and visit with their relatives. There was an arts and crafts place. They have a lot of arts and crafts hung on the wall. They have little shadowboxes by the door like one guy was a pharmacist, so it had pharmacy things out there. There was another woman who was a research person, and they had a tiny microscope and different things that showed you what they did.

Dorset Place is nice. My mother has been there for a little bit now, and it's been very good. The staff is very nice. We can visit her now. She's in a semiprivate room, and it's nice. They made muffins the other day, and the residents got to help make muffins. They celebrate the holidays, and on Fridays they have a coffee hour. They do things with them. They have a beauty salon and she loves that. The food I had was very good.
