Otterbein Pemberville is a not-for-profit faith-based continuing care retirement community. We are related to the United Methodist Church. The community is located on 160 acres of wooded property in eastern Wood County, Ohio. It is a safe, semi rural, small village with all levels of care. Independent living is made up of a combination of Villa/ Patio Homes and apartments. Wellness services, activities, dining room and volunteer opportunities are available for IL residents. Assisted living features all aspects of help with activities of daily living as well as nursing services. I went to Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community. The place was beautiful. I think anybody would be happy to be there. I just didn't like the long drive to get there. That was my only objection. As for the staff, whoever we passed in the hallway, everybody spoke. It was like a big family. You were not a stranger. Even before my tour guide introduced me, everybody was so friendly. I just couldn't get over that. They had a laundry room, exercise, places, little sitting rooms, and a big sitting room. I don't think you would get lonesome if you went there. If the road going there was a little shorter, I would go there in a minute. It's still on top of my list. It's fabulous.

Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community was all right but they were so far away from everything, from my kids and my family. The one advantage they had was you could transition from one to the other, from independent to assisted then nursing home without leaving the grounds, which I thought was nice. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they weren't pushy or anything. They took their time to show us everything.

Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community is an excellent community. The rooms are clean and bright. We could smell food cooking there, and it was really good. However, the price of that was way above that we couldn't even consider affording it. The staff were amazing. They were wonderful. They answered any questions we had there. They're very thorough. It was a very nice community. It was very well-kept and bright. The rooms were clean and spacious. They had their own bathrooms and their own little kitchenettes in their rooms.

Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community was a very nice place, but there were some things we didn't care for. It didn't fit what we wanted. We looked at the villas and they were very nice, but the only problem was we had to walk outside to go eat our meals at the main building. The staff was very nice. We had a meal there, it was OK, but my wife didn't think it was good. The grounds were very nice and well- kept. They had transportation for the residents.
