If you are looking for a place for your loved ones, my advice, start here! You will stop your search after visiting the facility and interacting with all of the associates. Heidi and Kim made the move in process seemless, answered all of my questions and have been instrumental in helping me navigate this huge life transition. The facility is beautiful and welcoming, which is unlike many of the other facilities in this area. Even though he does not participate in many of the activities, they have so many things to help keep our elders active! The associates ALL care and treat my grandfather like family. Moving him here was a big decision, but it is better than I could have ever imagined.

In anticipation of the need to find a memory care unit for my wife, I visited ten different facilities and ranked then according to a number of factors (e.g. staff turnover, cost, admin longevity, nursing experience, food, living environment, etc.). The search encompassed the Columbus and Mt. Vernon areas, and from an overall ranking standpoint, Danbury-Mt. Vernon ranked number one. However, the location relative to our home location was the least attractive. Nevertheless, I decided to make the commitment to Danbury, despite the longer commute, due to the superior care I determined Danbury would provide for my wife during her final chapter, and I haven't been disappointed. Communication between myself and the staff has been first class, the culture among the residents and staff projects a family-like atmosphere and the personal care my wife receives speaks to Danbury's commitment to excellence. All things considered; the commute has been worth the effort. Bottom line? I made the right decision.

I have had several family friends that have stayed at Danbury. The rooms are large and modern. The staff is very caring and and treat everyone with respect. The Executive Director, Heidi is very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious.! I would definitely recommend touring this place if you’re looking for an assisted living.

Danbury has worked with our family to help my parents gracefully “age in place” with dignity. The care they have provided has been exceptional. Every employee interaction has been kind and thoughtful. It is by far the best senior living facility in our area. I especially want to point out that not only does Danbury care about their residents, they also care greatly for their families. The Executive Director, Marketing Director, Director of Nursing, and all the staff have welcomed our parents and made the transition as smooth as it could be.

Danbury Senior Living of Mount Vernon Memory Care has caring and encouraging staff to welcome and support you. I think they are all exceptional, no matter what department. They are willing to stop in the hallway to chat, share concerns, and answer questions. If they don't know the answer, they will find out or point you to someone who does. Everyone here is willing to learn how to best help your loved ones and you. Big issues seem smaller when the staff is helping find solutions. Professional nursing staff and we'll trained aides are compassionate and want to work with the family. They have a multifaceted job to learn and understand the residents needs. Dementia presents its own world to understand. Dignity and respect for those with dementia is found here. Administration handles an amazing amount of details. They walk you through everything, which makes Move In Day easier. They welcome you into their office to talk and are genuinely concerned. The cost of staying here for value received is worth it. Lots of fun and creative activities are planned with the residents in mind. Did I mention the food? Aromas of delicious food greet you as you enter the front door. Meals are nutritious and attractive. Any concerns I have mentioned about changes to diet for my loved ones were taken seriously. Building maintenance keeps the place running smoothly. They are always willing to help in any way they can. Danbury facilities are new and neat with attractive landscaping. I appreciate everyone who helps make this great big family run.

The interaction is very important for the residents. The staff makes the residents feel very welcome and knows them by name. The nurses and aids are very tentative.

My Mom is a resident at Danbury Senior Living In Mount Vernon- Memory Care. The facility is new, well maintainer and the staff are excellent. Getting Mom settled was a challenge and the Nurse Practitioner and Nurses have worked together with me and my family to provide the best possible care and support to transition to a better living situation. Mom is happy to have as much independence as possible. Her apartment at Danbury provides that with the staff to make sure she is safe and happy.

The staff made it as easy as possible to move my mom into the memory care unit. It was a difficult decision to make this step, but the staff listened to my needs and concerns and worked with me and made sure I understood what to expect. They have always been welcoming and kind and treat my mom as if she is their family member.

When my mom decided it was time for assisted living, she wanted to return to the facility where she had received excellent care after a fall 3 years prior. It wasn't long before we realized that was not where she should be. Danbury (Mount Vernon) was just getting ready to open so we made arrangements to move her. Neither mom nor the family has ever looked back. At Danbury, our mom has been surrounded by people. She is still quite social so the choice of many friends has been a blessing. Exercise class, game gatherings, craft days, field trips and the dining room are all welcome parts of her day. The staff has become attached to our mom and she to them. The care team ministers to her faithfully. The activities director always finds a job for her when she is looking for something to do outside of her room. And, while mom doesn't have to be involved with the administrative team, they still love her well and they are very responsive to any questions/concerns the family presents. The employees work together like a healthy family would. Mom calls one of the larger studio rooms "home." The studio has a large bathroom and a kitchenette with a good size refrigerator considering all meals are provided in the dining room. A twin size bed, piano, desk, recliner and guest seating make the room cozy without being crowded. While we are thrilled that Mount Vernon, OH has this beautiful option, we do recognize that much of mom's happiness has been up to her and she has risen to the occasion most days. A move to assisted living requires some big adjustments in independence. We are thankful for a staff that has embraced our mom and made it a much easier transition than it could have been. And we are so grateful for a mom who has chosen to embrace them in return.

My dad has lived in Danbury Mount Vernon since they opened in August 2022. As family members, we are greeted every time we walk in the front doors to visit. From the bright and beautiful wall colors and furnishings, to the large aviary and aquarium, each area is welcoming and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The entire staff at Danbury Mount Vernon is top-notch. I'm continually amazed and appreciative of their intentional interaction with ALL residents. The staff treats each resident like family and they take the time needed to truly KNOW and understand each resident and their needs. Kindness matters and this staff exceeds my expectations day after day. We are blessed to have my Dad living in this community - he is thriving at Danbury. The resident rooms are bright with natural light from large windows. My dad lives in a room called the "Buckeye Room", and there's plenty of space for a double bed, recliner, bedside table, tv and tv stand, as well as extra seating for guests. Each room has it's own thermostat to keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. There is a large built-in cupboard/cabinet that has lots of storage and a there's a nice sized closet. There is a small refrigerator and sink. The bathroom is very large and bright and the shower has a built-in seat and bars for stability. There are many activities each day for the residents - music, games, crafts, and outings. Their holiday/family parties and activities are always fun for all! The residents and families receive a monthly calendar of all scheduled activities. The housekeeping staff is top-notch. Rooms and bathrooms are always clean. Beds are changed frequently and laundry is done often and put away in their closet for each resident.

Danbury has been a godsend for us. Dad is very happy to be at Danbury and is always saying how thankful he is for this place. The staff is so caring and attentive and the facility is beautiful and bright. There's a pleasant, positive atmosphere we didn't find other places. In the times when Dad has struggled physically, the staff has gone out of their way to care for him, and also to communicate with me. There are plenty of daily activities plus special events. Dad likes that he has the privacy of his own bedroom and living room, but it's also just a short walk down the hall to see his friends and socialize. We are very thankful!

My sister Laura suffered a stroke earlier this summer and needed help getting in out of bed/wheelchair, etc. She is so happy with the care and environment at Danbury Mt. Vernon, OH! She also talks about the the social aspect as she watches the Buckeye games with the other residents. The amentias are top notch and we are quite happy with the care she receives from a very wonderful and caring staff!

The Executive Director Kim is one of the best humans on the planet. She oversaw our mother’s care. Our mother started in the villa & then went to a studio apartment after a hospitalization & a rehab. Once she improved, she wanted a little more space & then moved to a one bedroom apartment. All 3 residences were beautiful, new, clean & fresh. The entire staff was exceptional. Everyone was kind & attentive. Our mother always had quick responses if she needed anything. The food was delicious. The facility offered transportation for appointments. There are lots of fun activities for the residents to participate in. The interior & outside of the buildings & grounds are beautiful. Danbury is the ideal location due to proximity to medical appointments, shopping, restaurants & the hospital. We would choose Danbury again.

My mother is currently a resident. She has been at Danbury for over a year. I had heard horror stories about senior homes but have been amazed at the care and sensitivity to my mothers needs. From my perspective the staff goes above and beyond to keep her happy and to not only care for her but develop a relationship with her. My mother was surprised at the size and layout of her apartment. She tells friends and relatives how nice her new home is and likes showing it off to anyone who visits. Danbury offers a variety of daily activities and encourages residents to participate. My mother considers the Danbury staff to be “family.”
