My grandpa spent some time here. The staff was always very helpful. They would update update us on his progress every time we visited and would we would call. The staff was friendly and attentive both with us and with my grandpa. Many of them seemed to form a friendship with him. They would talk sports with him. They also spent time talking with him about his farm. They knew the farm was a big part of his life and he enjoyed talking about it. It meant a lot to us that the staff spent this time with him and took an interest in him. Since we couldn't always be with him, it was nice to know he had good people around him. He also had great therapy while he was there. The therapy staff wouldn't let him quite. They really pushed him, not past his limit. They wouldn't let him quite and because of this he recovered very well. I've heard a lot of scary things about nursing homes, abusive staff and poor care to name some complaints, but I never saw anything like that at Majora Lane. I'm glad we had such a nice place to turn to. One of our favorite things to do while he was there was to bird watch. They have a bird exhibit right in the nursing home with at least 8 different kinds of birds. When the great grand children would visit it was fun for them to sit with great grandpa and watch the birds. It made the nursing home less scary for them. Nursing homes can resemble hospitals but we never felt that way while visiting grandpa.
