The residents are never neglected. The staff is very friendly. My sister's room is small, but she is out of the room most of the day.She is doing well on this floor. She enjoys doing crafts. They have a beautician come in to do her hair.

I was pleased with meeting the staff , they were so helpful and answered questions that I had , and made me feel quite at ease, I appreciated the frankness and they made me feel secure in my mothers care as she has memory problems and doesn't always understand. I am looking forward to making myself even more familiar. My aunts visit my mother and they highly recommended Briar Hill. I was also impressed with walking in and there was no foul oder... which I would have noticed immediately. Thank u for your care.

Though my relative was well cared for, the ambiance of the facility was not to be desired. I did not notice upon our tour, but after frequent visits the apparent odor of urine became evident. As beautiful as the facility is, the smell of urine reminds you that it is a nursing home and seemingly not well cleaned. I often visited my relative in the evenings, but due to a job change I have been going more and more often during the day. The previous joy of the nursing and aide staff is lost on the day shift, as they seem to be worried about bosses. As a visitor I get to hear all staff gossip whether I want to or not. The nurses not only complained to each other about their bosses, but they complained to me. Not to sound rude but the intention of my visits to the home are to confirm the wellbeing of my relative. I can say all they staff did care for my relative extremely well, but the ambiance created by a defocused staff worried about boss issues makes day visits no fun. Also they have an excellent activities department that my relative asked me to attend, and even asked me to end my visit early so she would not miss a specific event.
