My Mother is Phyllis. The people are so gentle and respectful of her. Tonight when they were putting her to bed. I watched, she winked at them. That means she is Happy. Thank you so much, it sends bubbles of relief and happiness in my heart, they are true Earth Angels. Thank you, thank you, thank you. My heart is so full of gratitude.

This facility is poorly run and staff members at every level are extremely unethical and inappropriate. As I was walking down the hall approaching my mothers room, I caught a staff member making fun of her. As she was coming out of my mothers room she was waving her hand in front of her face in a gesture meant to convey when something stinks, her coworkers who were standing in the hallway laughed at this insult. My mother stopped asking for assistance while she was at Heartland because an employee told her that "if you keep it up, no one is going to come and help you." I asked my mother if I could speak to someone about the threat, to which she said " honey, I'm begging you not to, I'm shaking, please drop it." Soon after this my mothers face sustained bruises that looked like someone had repeatedly hit her with a hard object; She said that she "fell." I tried on several occasions to discuss my concerns with a shift supervisor and nurse manager but always got the run around and no one ever returned my calls. I regret that my family had to place my mother in this facility, especially when she was at her most vulnerable. The tremor in my mothers voice and her swollen disfigured face haunt me.

Food could be better, but check salads were amazing, kitchen staff rude, management need to learn to be managers, the nurses on the floor would make good manager. Speech was rude,PT was great except that Eric guy didn't care when he schedules therapies and rude when u talked to him about it,med surge nurses were amazingly. Staffing is always challenged,I could have my call light on a long time but over all care was good, place was clean

Heartland of Marion was where my mom lived. The place was clean, bright and smelled good. The staff were friendly and they called me whenever they noticed anything unusual. They had crafts, games and puzzzles. The staff were doing a good job at keeping the active residents still active. The residents who were disabled were also involved in other programs in the facility.
