What I like the best about DeWolfe Place is it's a nice bridge between assisted living and nursing care. They do more than most assisted living facilities do in terms of being able to feed and do a lot of ADLs. It's a community of people who have more needs than the average assisted living community, and my father happened to fall into that situation, but it affords privacy and comforts that a nursing home doesn't. So that's why we chose it for him. They're very kind, very helpful, and very responsive. He seems to enjoy the food. They have a hair salon and activities.

I went to look at DeWolfe Place. I like the outside of it. It's in a very peaceful setting. It's much more restrictive than what I was looking for. The facility looked nice. The apartments were very small for me. The atmosphere felt depressed. It might be the right place for somebody who could not live independently.

Mom checked into DeWolfe Place. So far, the people have been very friendly, nice, and they really worked with her. She seems pretty happy,\. They were nice up there, they took a picture of her talking to people and sent it to us. So, we could see her actually, how she's doing stuff, and she's starting to participate in their activities. Mom's room is quite nice. She does have kind of like a sitting room, but her bed is right behind it, straight down from her bed is like a short hallway, but there's closets on both sides, it goes right into the bathroom, and there's a shower, stool, and a sink. The shower has no lip on it or anything, it's all flat, so it's easy walking in. They have meals for them, you ask them questions, they answered all your questions on what's going on, and they told her, if she wants extra snacks, she can get them. Last night she wanted a sandwich, so they got her a sandwich from the kitchen, and it seemed that they really do take time to make their clients feel safe.

We placed my mother over at De Wolfe Place. She chose it because it was a smaller, more intimate place with only 40 beds/rooms there. They do have field trips, and once or twice a month, they go on van rides out in the country to see the fall leaves, which she's only done once. In-house, they have chair exercises, which she does. They have card games, bingo, bible studies, jigsaw puzzles, and especially around the holidays, they'll do crafts to put around the areas. They also bring in outside entertainment. They had some students of a dance class come in and dance for them this week.

My mother-in-law was at DeWolfe Place. Her room had all that we needed and was very clean. They were very caring and very patient with her because she wasn't sure about the whole thing and wasn't healthy enough at first. They were very kind and let her eat in her room until her strength was better. They helped with her exercises and different things to strengthen her. When she was there, the only thing she did was bingo. The food was very good. The dining area was very clean in a very pleasant surrounding.

We have placed my Mom at the Dewolfe House assisted living and we're very happy with it. It's a very clean facility, so nice when you go in, and the food is very good. Her room is quite small, but it's nice, freshly painted, it has a new carpet, and everything's very modern. We furnished the room and did all the decorations. They have an activities director, so they have exercise, games, and different groups coming in to entertain them with light shows and different music. The staff is the nicest thing about this facility. Everyone there is very affectionate and they seem to love my mother. She has dementia and she just absolutely adores the girls who work with her. They made us feel at home right away.

Dewolfe House looked more like a house than a building. It had a good reputation. It looked livable and presentable. I only visited the place once.
