Rooms are small and need repainted but that doesn't effect the care of residents. The staff I can't say enough about them. They are all Angels Activity people, Cleaning , Kitchen , Repair, Front desk, Office, Aides, and Nurses. Eveyone of these people treat every person there like they are their parent. I am not fond of nursing homes but I must say this one was amazing with the care my mom got. Rachel and Tammy getting visits in during covid and making the vistiors feel very important too. They are two amazing people. Nurses and Aides that worked with my mom are the most wonderful people I have ever meet. The memory Unit is awsome and all of the people working there are God sent. Harmar Place has the most amazing staff it didn't matter which shift was working they all were great. Before my mom passed one of the nurses stayed by my mom incase she passed that night so she wouldn't be alone Thank God she didn't pass that night. When my mom passed away last week We were able to be by her side to tell her goodbye. I Thank each and eveyone at Harmar Place for the care my mom got and the surport They gave the family. I miss seeing their smiling faces and their kindness that shined though each and everyone of them. Harmar Place you are very Blessed to have such an amazing Staff. This place and the people will forever have a special place in my heart. Thank You for making this hard time easier.

The relative that was staying at Harmar Place did not need end of life care, he simply needed an extra hand with day to day tasks. During every visit to Harmar Place, my husband and I were always greeted warmly by the staff. Usually we were intercepted by an aide who gave us an update on our family member before we ever arrived at his room. Our relative himself always had great things to say about his care. From little things like helping figure out a television error, or bigger things, like helping get bathed or go for a walk, he was pleased with his care. It was difficult for him to admit that he needed help, but the staff and employees at Harmar Place made the transition more than bearable for our entire family. They made it less of a nursing home, and more of a helping hand. It was as good as the experience can be in a difficult time.

I think the staff here is very warm and welcoming, but I feel as though the general practices of the facility are not great. For instance, the woman that I worked with for over a year went into this facility for rehabilitation services, but received far less rehab services than she had received at another rehab center (Health South). Because the facility did not believe she was making progress, they decided it would be best for her to live there permanently. I believe that she would have been fine going home with the assistance she had been receiving from in-home caregivers, instead of completely resigning her to this facility. There were several other individuals at this facility that I believe were functioning well enough to live on their own, and some perhaps would have needed in-home help with preparing their meals, etc.., but were well enough to live independently. I think that to stay afloat financially this facility is recruiting individuals that would be better-off living independently. The woman I worked for said several times that she would rather be at her home, but the decision was ultimately life up to the facility and her son who lives several states away...
