We have seen Blanchard Place Assisted Living Community. It was very nice, it's clean, and the upkeep is excellent. The staff explained everything they could explain. They showed me everything from the beauty salon to the recreation area, she was good and very friendly. The room was very nice. We were looking at a studio, you could put a twin or a whole bed in it, my mom's lift chair, and a little 2-seater table and chairs for the kitchenette, a bench, and a dresser. So it was big enough. They had so many community areas.

I toured Blanchard Place. It was a little more outdated than the other one I visited, and it needed a little more upkeep. It was nice, it's just an older facility. The staff that I interacted with was friendly and very knowledgeable. The dining area was nice, it was a little small, but this community was a smaller one. They had less beds, so the area was kind of smaller than the other one I toured. Their rooms needed a little more work. They were much smaller than some other ones, so I thought it would be hard to have a queen or a full-size bed in there with anything else. They had companion rooms and they said you could put two beds in there, but I really don't know how that could be because the rooms are so small.

Blanchard Place was very neat and clean, and the staff was very nice and very caring. My mother-in-law wasn't there very long before she passed. She did go out and eat, but if she didn't feel well, they would bring meals to her. They were very good at staying in contact with us when she was having an issue or when her health started to deteriorate. They were very good about calling us, keeping us informed, and inquiring as to what we wanted to do. After she passed away, we did not want anyone to go in the room without our permission, and they were pretty good about that. They were also very good about sending up hospice to come and be with her. They gave us options, so we could hear their opinion and the doctor's perspective. It made it much easier for us to make decisions.
