My father is at The Ashford at Sturbridge assisted living. He just wasn't happy with the food, but their chef is working to make that better. I've been talking with the director and such. The physical appearance is excellent. They've only been open a couple of years. I think it'll be three years this coming January. Their services are very good for both the aides and the nurses. They're very attentive. When I talk with them and ask if they could take care of something for my dad, they're always very willing to do that. I haven't eaten there since January of 2019 when they first moved in. The menu is varied, and I think some of my dad's problem is that he's 88 and your taste buds start to go when you get older. Things just don't taste as you remember them. They take them out to restaurants once in a while and out to shopping. They also have a little car show in their parking lot, and they've had the OSU alumni band come there and play. They have a lot of good activities. They have an onsite beautician and a library. My dad said the food has been very good the last two weeks and it's been three weeks ago since I talked with management about it. I know he's paying less than he would at some other places. They're very responsive. They've closed their facility due to Covid before the governor closed the State of Ohio. I feel that they're very concerned about the welfare of their residents. That's their number one priority and I'm thankful for that.

I didn't like the fact that The Ashford at Sturbridge only had one-bedroom and studios. It's not a retirement community. It's more of a community for people who have some problems but can still be independent. It's not exactly the kind of lifestyle or activities that we would want to be part of at this point. They don't even have stoves because they don't want people to start a fire or whatever. You're not living in an apartment like I'm looking for. The staff during the tour was fantastic. They took people shopping, and they did meals. It was fairly decent as far as what they offered. Electricity is paid for. You don't have to pay for your cable TV and all of those nice things that are pretty standard. They're allowed to have a microwave, but not a stove. It was clean and nice. There was nothing out of place or wrong with it. You can get a room that overlooks the pond.

My mom was moved here after a stay in another facility. It is a night and day experience. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are very helpful and have exceeded my expectations. She has only been here a few weeks and out of quarantine a few and days. But as a family member I feel she is going to be well cared for.

The Ashford at Sturbridge is phenomenal. Everything's A+. They're topnotch. I've been really pleased so far. Their dining area is nice and clean and there's plenty of room. They have a calendar that shows what they can do every day. They can go out to breakfast, they take them shopping, and they play bingo and do certain activities. My mother's room is nice, clean, and fairly new.
