Stone Oak Retirement Community is what my mother-in-law chose, and we like it a lot. They are very friendly and very accommodating. It is very clean and also new. The room size is bigger than all the ones we looked at for a 1-bedroom, which was a big selling point. The food is very good. They have something available for like 7 to 7, so if you just want to go get a sandwich or something, you don’t have to only go during breakfast hours or lunch hours or dinner hours; you can go anytime and pick up something. They have a medic alert system for the residents, and I know that somebody on staff is the first to go check on them and check out what they need, and then they’ll call 911 if they need to.

If money were not an issue, I would say Stone Oak Retirement Resort was great. It's beautiful. It has everything, but it's too fancy and too expensive for my cousin. It has a movie theater. It has all kinds of chef- cooked foods, a waterfall in the lobby, and all kinds of fancy stuff. It is also well-kept. It was gorgeous, but we don't want everything. We want a nice place but not too expensive.

Stone Oak Retirement Resort was excellent. The people were very friendly and seemed very professional. They showed us a two-bedroom. The layout was very good. It's designed for elderly people. It was a very efficient layout. I didn't see anything I didn't like. They offered food, but we declined. The facility was very clean and very nice.

We went to Stone Oak Retirement Resort. Everybody there was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There was easy access to everything. They have like a little store in there that was run by the residents where they would get things and sell them or like, if one of the residents wanted to sell some of their decorations or whatever, they'd put it in there and then somebody else could buy it. It was kind of cute. I didn't see that anywhere else. They had several places just in different locations as we toured that had puzzles and an isolated area where you could work out a puzzle. They had an incredible library overlooking the entryway, and it was very nice. And they had a puzzle section there too. You just work on puzzles all over the place. It was fun. The day we went, that was the day of their luau. They have a special event each month and this was their Luau. And they had a little three-piece band playing Hawaiian music and it was just very, very cute playing some Beach Boys kind of things, and a very, very beachy theme and giving out leis. It was cute. They have a nice theater room, really big. They could have movies every night. It seemed very, very good. I enjoyed it. There didn't seem to be enough outdoor space. You could go out by a fountain and sit there, but there didn't seem to be any kind of real outdoor area for walking or anything. That's the only thing I didn't like about it.

The staff at Stone Oak Retirement Resort was wonderful. They were very helpful and very nice. It's a new facility, but to me, it seemed very institutional. It's not very warm or homey and I thought the finishes in the apartments were standard, not high-end. They were just setting up for lunch and it appeared that they had quite a large selection as far as what you could eat. I thought that was a good part and the fact that all meals were included. They did not have a pool, but they had a few activities.

Stone Oak Retirement Resort was nice, but their price range for independent was expensive. The rooms were big and roomy, which I liked. They had shopping centers surrounding it. They also had a little picnic area, and the landscaping was pretty nice. Going from a house rental to somewhere like that, you don't want to just be cooped up and be in a little room, you want elbow room and space, and it had it. If you don't want to eat in your own apartment, you could go to the dining room, and it was pretty big and really nice. It was appetizing in a way. They had an art room and all the residents mingle and get to know each other and play cards. I think they would need some more outdoor stuff to do. I had baked chicken, and it was home cooked and pretty tasty.

Stone Oak Retirement Resort was absolutely beautiful. It was great and I would love to have been there. I saw several different models and they were all lovely, but a little bit smaller than I would've hoped. The person who helped me was wonderful. She spent at least 2 hours talking to me and one of my friends. She was very personable, explained everything, gave us the tour, showed us the different places, and very thorough. The dining area was lovely. There were some basic amenities like a workroom and different little offices where you could go. They made it feel like it was a neighborhood. There's a hairdresser. It was fun, but it's the additional amenities that would've cost more money. There's nothing wrong with that place. I just can't afford it. There's a beautiful cascade of water coming down off of rocks with some carp at the bottom. It was such an inviting atmosphere.

Stone Oak Retirement Resort was a very beautiful place, but just a little bit more expensive than what we were willing to pay every month. It's new. The person that we talked to was very caring and nice. The room I saw was very homey, very nice, very clean, very comfortable looking, and all the amenities were there. The kitchen was very nice and very pretty. They had a kitchenette and they had everything that you'd ever want. They have a bus and they go on shopping trips and take people to doctors' appointments. They were very willing to work with us as far as the move-in cost. We agreed she would pay a certain amount up until end of the year. I was impressed. They have a dining room and that's one of the first things you see as you walk in. It's pretty and they use tablecloths. It was set up like a beautiful restaurant. It was very inviting.

Stone Oak Retirement Resort is a luxury resort. This is a fairly new community. It was very nice. I would like to live there myself. The room was very large and very clean, and it had a place to put a washer and a dryer.

I liked Stone Oak, I liked the people, and there were lots of activities going on. I went back to an evening music presentation and ate some goodies. It was brand new, around 60% occupied, and everything looked it. The food was a bit bland, but you have an option to order a special meal if you wanted, like in a restaurant.

Stone Oak Retirement Resort is very nice, and I liked the rooms and the place very much. The food was fine except that it's cafeteria-style and I prefer to be seated and waited on.

My experience at Stone Oak was very positive. I liked the woman who was showing me around. She was very thoughtful, kind, and full of information. The place has an exercise room with some pieces of equipment in it, and they have exercise classes. There are so many activities that I could probably never go to all of them. The facility is very generous. At one point, one set of grandkids and parents came, and at another point, another set came, and the food was free for all of them. I have already made some friends there, so it's where I'm definitely going.
