My mom is a resident of Willow Brook Christian Home. Our experience so far has been wonderful. The layout and the people are wonderful. We have nothing negative to say at all. They're very caring and take really good care of my mom. They couldn't be easier to work with. The food was good, and she is pleased with it. She has physical therapy there.

About Willow Brook Christian Home in Columbus, Ohio
Welcome to Willow Brook Christian Home
Willow Brook Christian Home, at 55 Lazelle Road off US 23 on Worthington's Franklin County/Delaware County line, is the original Willow Brook Campus. Established in 1972 as a 25-bed nursing home, the newly expanded and updated version is beautifully appointed and spacious, with a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center that enables the recovering person to quickly regain strength and return home.
Both the rehabilitation wing, the skilled nursing center, and the assisted living wing upstairs offer all private rooms with their own baths, wifi throughout the building, top-notch dining, and a dynamic social activities program in a beautiful building with spaces for privacy and conversation both indoors and out. The assisted living center also has some suites with living rooms, bedrooms and kitchenettes.
Fascinating aviaries and ponds, fountains and gardens offer gentle diversions, but if you want a little push on your way to recovery, our therapists are happy to do it!
When you join Willow Brook, you enter a community of friends:
- We treasure life, but we’re not crazy about leaf raking, snow shoveling or home improvement.
- We enjoy a sense of belonging, but we like a little space between our houses.
- We value trees, ponds, streams, and deer grazing in the meadow.
- We love a variety of good food and lots of choices.
- We like moderate prices.
- We get a kick out of interested and interesting people.
- We know our good health won’t last forever and want to live where health care services are available should we ever need them.
- When someone we love enters assisted living or memory care, we like knowing nobody will nickel and dime us to death.
- We’re relieved to know that the goal at Willow Brook is to keep us as independent and healthy as possible and to support our desire to remain in our home as we recover from illnesses and as we age.
Willow Brook Christian Communities was founded in 1972 by members of the Churches of Christ in Central Ohio who wanted to expand their ministry to include older adults. They began in Worthington, with a little nursing home on Lazelle Road. Now, forty years later, Willow Brook has three communities, including two continuing care retirement communities that offer comprehensive housing and health services to older adults along the entire continuum of care.

In 2015, we had a family member stay there after heart surgery for rehab. We had specifically explained and it was also written in the discharge papers that she was to be on a low sodium, diabetic diet. She was given hotdogs, bacon, and ham, so she didn't eat those meals. What caused us to leave was an incident with her oxygen. She has a track record for congestive heart failure. We asked that no water be added to the oxygen due to not wanting water in her lungs. The nurse put it on anyway and there was water in the oxygen tubing. When asked, the nurse would not own up to it and my grandmother did not have anyone else in the room. If I could not trust them to handle such a small thing with integrity, how can I trust them if something big happened?

A wonderful find in the Worthington/Powell area. I toured this facility and found it to be a very clean and comfortable place for an aging relative. The staff were very kind and I spoke to several residents who love the food. The best part I noticed is that is is a not-for-profit, church related facility. They even have an attached skilled nursing facility onsite in case you need skilled nursing or rehabilitation. I read too that they have a great survey record and resident and family satisfaction.

Willow Brook was very caring, clean, homey, nice, and I thought it would be safe there. They had entertainment and trips as part of their activities.

My Grandfather was originally placed in a Nursing Home, which was not as accommodating or the staff as friendly as we had hoped. My family then had my Grandfather transferred to Willow Brook. It was more like a good cross of Nursing Home and Assisted Living facility. My Grandfather liked having his independence and enjoyed the nice nurses and staff that would help him and they enjoyed making my Grandfather happy since he was a War Vet. The facility was always clean and the residents were generally happy with where they were. Family members were always coming in and out visiting their elderly relatives. Even when my Grandfather fell ill, they did their best to make him as comfortable as possible before he eventually passed away in his sleep.

my aunt has been in there for abot 2 weeks and we have been delighted with care. They are attentive and informative and have gone out of their way to make the transition easier. We also be moving my aunt to another facility due to moving out of the area and they have been just great!

Willow Brook Christian Assisted Center has to be one of the nicest facilities I have ever been in. Everyone from the front desk staff to even the waitress staff was very accommodating to our needs. With stepping into this facility, it was very neat and clean. There was no odor that usually follows most nursing home/assisted centers. We even ate dinner with our Grandmother of which the food was excellent.

I took my mother in for skilled rehabilitation. I was pleasantly surprised by the all-private room and the beautiful setting. The facility was very clean and the staff very helpful as mom recovered from Knee surgery. I would highly recommend to others.
