Whetstone Gardens and Care Center is a good place with nice rooms. The people who work here are nice and provide good service. There are 144 residents. The food is fair. They have a good rehab center because my legs are getting stronger.

The facility is clean, nice looking, big, head nurses are nice, management is nice, good activities, decent food, no problem there, but we are here to make sure our loved one gets the CARE they need. During my sisters stay in the long-term care, the problems we encountered was with the front desk--no one sits there on a regular basis to answer the phone. Either it rings and rings and you have to hang up; it rings and get transferred to another part of the building and if you finally get thru and ask for the nurses station--no one is sitting at that desk most of the time and it is hard to talk to them to ask about your loved one. Laundry-they will loose your clothes; food prepared-the kitchen was giving my sister food that we continued telling them that she could not have. They let my sister call all the shots. No one really took control of her actions and when we needed things to get done, they let her do their job which was cleaning her own room, washing her own body when she could not remember to and they would not check on her to even see if she was clean. They also let her take her own medication without watching her, then you find pills all over the room. If you do not consistently have the time to really stay on them with your loved one, you will eventually run into a very very bad situation. Do not leave it in their hands. I had the time and this is why I would not want anyone else in my family to come to this facility. I was truly surprised!

Whetstone Gardens is beautiful, and one thing that stood out was they had short term and long term care. The place was very nice, and the individual apartments were nice, updated, and looked very appealing. It would certainly be personalized for the person who will be living there. Whetsone Gardens was my favorite.

Staff shows great teamwork, patients are provided with good care and everyone is friendly.

My brother was here for 2 years on March 1st 2017 he became very pale they took him to the hospital to get a blood transfusion and he ended up passing on March 5th due to infection from bed sores that you could fit fist into. I know he was to blame as much as they are, but they need to make sure that they are really checking on their residents and attending to them.

Came here after surgery. The location was really close to the hospital which was nice. The staff was friendly and the nurses kept on top of my pain and medication schedule. The therapy department was absolutely amazing. I made wonderful progress and got to go home quickly. Everyone knew me by name and even though it wasn't home it felt a close second.

My father was brought there after surgery at OSU. It was on recommendation from OSU. The place is a joke. My father has not had hot water in his room for 2 weeks. Can not take a shower or wash his hands with warm water after going the bathroom. DId not change sheets for a week. Had to be asked to. Meds are not dispensed on any kind of schedule. How the health department is not aware of these issues is beyond me.

I visited my friend that was here for physical therapy. This facility was clean and the staff were very attentive to him. I'm having a hip surgery soon and I will come here because they did such great therapy with my friend.

My father was a patient at Whetstone Gardens & Care Center. He had a lot of pain issue. They brought in a pain medicine specialist. I didnt know a skilled nursing facility could do that. I guess they are the only one. Not only did they get his pain under control but he is stronger than before he went into the hospital.

Mom lives at Whetstone Gardens @ Care Center and the staff is great! I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for long term care.
