My mom moved into National Church Residences Chillicothe the first week of June. So far they've been very easy to work with and very helpful. The staff was very nice. They seem very helpful. The food looks good. They have a lot of variety. I don't know if Mom has participated in any of the activities yet. She's still kind of getting used to being there.

I liked that National Church Residences Chillicothe was a small community, at least for assisted living. It looked like they had everything that my mom needed and the staff was very nice. All of the people I met were very pleasant and answered all my questions. My mom was there for respite and she said that they were all very nice. Everything we saw in the room was very clean. It was adequate in size for a single person. They had studio rooms and one-bedrooms and they were all very nice. The food was pretty good. Not my home cooking, but it's good for institutional cooking. They can't help that. The dining area was well-lit and clean. They have a dining service that serves in 2-hour time blocks and you just come whenever you want to during the two hours. The staff that served us was nice and the cook was nice. They had a community room for activities and movies. They had a salon where they had the stylist there one day a week. They also have different sitting areas for socialization. It was very nice.

I looked at National Church Residences Chillicothe, and it's my second choice for dad. It looks nicer than the other facility. It was more money, but they did not have any openings at the time. The tour was good, though I don't think it was quite as good as the other place. I don't think it was as good because the other one was a lot smaller, so the staff wasn't as busy. There's a lot of people coming and going. They were very friendly, but I just liked the other place better. The rooms that I saw were nice. There were church groups coming in and doing stuff with the people. The dining area was set up really nice and organized. It looks like a huge, gigantic kitchen; it's really nice looking. This place is a little higher-class, so the residents look nice. They still get up and take care of themselves. It's not like a nursing home.

The staff is friendly and the building is clean. However, where it counts in the care of the patient there is a letdown. Anything that goes wrong with the patient's condition is the patient's fault. The nursing director and medical director took no responsibility in the fact that the patient developed 2 separate bed sores (stage 4). and that she lost 30 pounds in under 2 months. She is now considerated hospice eligible related to eating patterns and weight loss. 2 months ago she was living alone and fully functional till she broke her hip. I think the medical care is reactive and not proactive. The patient can barely stand with assistance at this time. It is so sad to see her debilitated so fast when it didn't need to happen if there was responsible care.

My father in law lives there full time. The apartments are spacious and well maintained. The staff is very friendly, courteous and polite, they know you by name. The physical therapy is excellent, the therapists are kind but effective. The meals provided are balanced for a healthy diet, and they work very well with a nutrionist to provide the right kinds of food for people with dietary restrictions. The security is excellent, and they have plenty of activites in a wide range of interests. The lobby is well maintained, with a small selection of books and magazines you can borrow for pleasure reading. I always feel welcome visiting there, and feel like children are welcomed, even encouraged to visit. Overall, I feel that this is an excellent assisted living facility, and feel safe knowing that someone I love is there, getting both the excellent care he needs to live a private, full life with the help that we are unable to provide full time.

My great-grandmother was well taken care of. The only complaints she was was the food, but that's to be expected. She loved her caregivers, although some seemed as though they were there just working. It's a great facility, clean, and friendly staff.

It is the nicest nursing home in our town. It is a comfortable setting, and the rooms are nice. It also has an abundance of staff, who are always around. The only problem is the staff does not seem to care very much about the patients under their care. I have seen this problem in almost any nursing home i have been in.
