The rooms are private which I appreciated. Cleanliness wasn't the best - walls had stuff on them, we finally cleaned it ourselves. Housekeepers are nice but, maybe there is not enough of them. The food was more often than not cool to cold constantly. There is no seasoning to provide some flavor, foods are extremely bland. I never had fresh fruit. Menus are too repetitive with the same things offered for an entire weekly menu cycle (for example, tuna salad sandwich - no other sandwich offered). Little consideration colors, textures, hot and cold foods or variety. My food was brought in practically every day. Staffing levels are questionable. It appeared as if the aides were stressed at time serving the residents in their assigned hall. Nurses are good to answer questions and provide information to questions that are asked. Occupational and physical therapists are good and listen to your questions while providing answers that you can apply to gain strength and achieve goals. I was in the facility for close to 2 months.

They took great care of my grandfather and made us all feel at home and like family. It was nice to leave and know that he was going to be well taken care of each day.

The facility itself is very nice. The rooms were large and private. The staff left me with mixed feelings; mostly positive. We had a couple of incidents of inattention early in my Father's 3 month stay, but they were addressed adequately. The rest of his stay was pretty smooth. However, there were a couple of nurses and aides who were exceptional. His wound nurse, Kathy, was amazingly kind and professional. The major drawback is the food. It was pretty consistently horrible. I was kept plenty busy bringing dishes to substitute from home. This place is great short term. I would not want to reside there permanently - primarily due to the poor food.

Most of the people are great it's the food that's horrible! It saddens me to know that the physical therapy department isn't gonna be the same! Most of them are gonna be leaving because of the outrageous healthcare prices went up so far that they can't survive especially if they have children! I just know that if I have to have another surgery and need rehabilitation,if the same people are not here then I'm not going back! They are all great together! I really wish they would've done something about the food though! I like the auction and bingo. The rooms were nice.its just those 2 things that are the worst is the food and loosing the physical therapy department

Pretty much don’t go here if you have the choice. Old people get left to lay in their own pee crap and bedsores and if you’re there for the rehab facilities they just leave you to lie in bed and don’t do anything to help. Not only that but the floor had sticky yellow stuff allll over it in the halls and in front of patients room doors. Staff were all rude and snippy acting as if we were a bother to them when all they do is stand around each other and talk.

This facility is not a place for your loved one. They treated my parent horribly. To leaving them soiled in their waste for hours to starving them. If you care for your loved one at all do not let them stay here

They treated my father horrible. By letting him lay in urine soaked sheets. Leaving feces covered wash clothes on his bed. Also starving him. Please don't let your loved one stay there.

We chose The Laurels of Athens for my mom. She's not there yet. My grandma used to live there and it's very, very nice. It's close to everybody and my family members. The staff was excellent. It was very, very clean and the grounds are nice. The staff is very nice. It's a very nice place and I have no concerns of putting my mom there. I liked most the cleanliness and the staff.

Well my review is a mixed one. I don't want to give out to much info. General over all care is a 8 out of 10. Therapy is a 10, nursing staff always willing to help, you might have to track them down though. House keeping leaves a bit to be desired, has had dirt in the hallway for the past 4 days, rooms are very clean and nice. Overall I give a 8 rating, and sure better than any other place around for care

I was a patient at Laurels Of Athens for a short period of time. I was in Physical Therapy and it was an accomplishment in getting the use of my legs back to where they used to be. The therapy was very useful and entertaining at times.I met a lot of very nice people, some I had known and others I grew to knew. The staff and Management at Laurels made my stay a very comfortable and enjoyable place to be in my time of need. I would refer Laurels Of Athens to anyone who might need a wonderful place to recooperate for any possible reason. Very, very peacefull.

My Mom has been here at the Laurels for almost a year and she considers it her home. The most wonderful part is that each resident has a private room and can have a bit more privacy than other places we looked at for her. We are so happy we found the Laurels. Everything is on one level so no worry about getting lost. It really is state of the art. I would totally recommend The Laurels.

This facility was extremely clean and friendly. There were not many residents when I visited because The Laurels was newly built. I volunteered at the Laurels with a group from university. The residents seemed very happy and content. The Laurels had college aged students who volunteered every week, and the residents seemed to love this part of their routine. They look forward to telling stories about their lives to the students and doing something new each week. They have many activities for the tenants to participate in each week. The facilities nurses and employees are excited to be there and know everything about their tenants. This facility is extremely clean, friendly and I would definitely send my loved ones to this facility knowing that they will be well taken care of.
