"The staff members seem to care about the residents, however they do seem to be a bit overwhelmed at times with job that at best, would be very taxing. Everyone I came into contact with had a smile and seem to be busy about their assignments. From what I could tell the residents are clean and well taken care of, and the facility is clean and neat. One of the things I really like about this care center is that the family members are welcome to stay with their loved ones, use the facitilites and even eat with them for a small fee. The people I have dealt with seem to feel at home here. I have had conversations with several family members who have loved ones placed in the care center and they seem to be comfortable with the care and the surroundings. I think that the professional running this Life Care Center have the best interests of the residents at heart and do their best to give the best level of care possible. "

"My husband was recently a resident of Avalon. I was very hesitant of him having to be admitted to this type of facility but I was pleasantly surprised from day one. The facility is older but it is well maintain. He had a large room, that was very clean. The staff were extremely attentive to his needs and they treated him as they would their own family. I cannot express enough how much I appreciated the loving care everyone showed both my husband and myself in his last days."

"My mother was a resident of Life Care Center of Richland. She started out in physical therapy. The staff was wonderful. However, sometimes the call time to get to her to go to the bathroom wasn't as quick as we would have liked it, so my mother would get up and go by herself; she shouldn't have, but she did. Everything was great, but the only thing that pulled the wool over our eyes was when she was no longer able to get physical therapy. Medicare stopped paying, so she had to start paying out of pocket, but we weren't really notified. We knew they had stopped physical therapy and that at some point she was going to be paying out of pocket, but we didn't know it was going to double in price. My brother was getting prepared as to how much we were going to have to start paying out of pocket, so when he was there visiting he asked how much it cost per day and they said $171. However, we got a bill for two weeks that totaled $6,000, and that's not $171 a day! That's what Medicare cost and not their cost for out-of-pocket. We got blindsided. That lack of communication about how much she was going to be paying out-of-pocket was troublesome to us."

"I stayed at Richland Rehabilitation Center. It was clean. The food was goodand had a lot of fiber in it. The nurses were excellent, and their care was phenomenal. They provided entertainment, so there was always something to do, and I was very busy when I was there. It was a very good place. If you have to be in a place like that, then it's a good place to be. I think people should certainly look into it. There isn't a smell. If you're able to get up and go to the dining room, you're encouraged to do that. Otherwise, you take your meals in your room. "

"Regency Hermiston is a nice place. I have my own private room. The staff is nice. They don’t rush me. I do what I want on my own. They let me do my own showers. They let me do whatever I want by myself. When I was in another facility, I didn’t get that. The only reason I want to go back to assisted living is that I can get therapy at the hospital. Here at the nursing home, I can’t use therapy. My legs are too weak to use the equipment, and I need therapy bad. So I’m just here. I’m not doing anything, so there’s no reason for me to be here at the nursing home. The state won’t pay for therapy as long as I’m in a nursing home. They do housework every day, so the place is clean. My room is clean, nice, quiet, and it’s not crowded. "
