I am very happy with Coventry House of Zebulon. My mom has been there for 6 months now. And the care is very good. The staff has been great to work with and treat the patients well. The rooms are checked on daily for cleanliness. And if you are in need of anything for the room you just have to ask. Ervin and Randy do a great job with maintenance and cleaning. Especially since it is and older building. The Activites director is doing a great job. They go out on shopping trips, to lunch and have plans for other activities. Since mom has been there they have had a Tea Party for Mother's Day, A special day for Father's Day, a cookout for the 4th of July. During the week they have craft times, bingo, bible study and every third weekend they have a preacher come in. They also had a raised garden for the residents to work in and grow some of their own veggies. The Directors and staff are very good. I just have to call or text and someone always gets back with me. Sometimes you have to call several times to get someone on the phone because the staff are working with the residents. Which is what I would rather them do! The facility just got a new cook and Kitchen director. The food is good. I have eaten with my mom once. And what I have was really good. I could not have chosen a better place for my mom!!!

This place is awful. I have visited my mother multiple times and each time I visit, the staff is constantly yelling at a lady resident because she can’t help her dementia causes her to yell. I’ve asked the staff many times as to why they do this and they say the lady is “only faking it” and “seeks attention”. My mother tells me they treat the lady like this constantly. There are not many activities, as most of them are repetitive, and there just doesn’t seem to be any life in that building. The residents always look so miserable and bored. Any time I call, I must call a total of three or four times before I receive an answer. The staff is very unprofessional and can be rude. One employee in particular always smells strongly of alcohol. I love the executive director. She is very kind and it’s sad to think that she’s oblivious to what’s going on in her building. I hope the executive director does her job and puts her foot down to her staff, as bullying/verbally and mentally abusing a resident is by no means okay at all, no matter the circumstance. If I ever find out my mother is being treated wrong, I will be very mad. Keep an eye on your family members. If they do it to one resident, in front of visitors, I wouldn’t be surprised if they do it to others, as well.

Coventry House was a nice, simple place; nothing fancy, but it was fairly new and clean. The rooms were fine. My mother stayed there for a month. The staff did a pretty good job. Most of them were very friendly and nice to work with. The food was average. My mom said the spaghetti was terrible, but other than that, everything was OK. They had a library section with lots of books, but I didn't see anything going on.

I really liked Coventry House of Zebulon, and it's reasonable. The residents there liked it, and it's out in the country so it's nice, quiet, and calm. I spoke with a couple of residents; they seemed to really enjoy it, and I liked it.

My mother has been in Coventry House of Zebulon for about two-and-a-half years. It's good, and we're very pleased with it. She lives in a room. It can be a little bit bigger, but it's fine. She's got her own furniture in there. It made it feel more like home for her. The food is not the greatest. The variety of the food is not as good as what we would like to have, but then they have to feed a lot of people with a lot of health problems, so you got to adapt to that. They play bingo once or twice a week, they throw a ball back and forth to each other, they go for rides on vans around the community, and for the ones that are able to shop, they get out to the stores. The activity room could be a little more spacious, but other than that, it's a lot better than her being at home and not having to worry about somebody coming in and being here all the time.

My father has been living in assisted living for several months now and has been threatened, intimidated, demeaned, verbally abused, made fun of for his dementia by staff openly with the room full of staff, other residents and visitors, woken up nightly "to give him his sleeping medications, denied and lied to about the administration of his anxiety medications and wrongfully had his room searched by staff on multiple occasions. His abuse is documented by myself and my sister as well as caught on video and audio. He is scared and cries everyday because he is in fear of what they will do next. One employee even verbally abused me on the phone and threatened to not allow me to pick up my father for a visit. They wake him up nightly denying him sleep. Coventry House of Zebulon is an awful place. We are contacting attorneys now to pursue legal actions against them.

Mom wasn't very happy at Coventry House. The staff was not that caring but also they went up on their price to almost $4000 a month. She was happy there for the first year but after the first year, there were a lot of changes from the corporation and it put a lot of pressure on the management there. Prices went up drastically $800 in one month. They had to take people who were then in private rooms and put them in semi-private rooms overnight and you didn't get any choice of roommate. When they did that to my mom, they're supposed to get 24 hours notice. I got 10 hours notice. It had been a good place and then after that, it wasn't. She was comfortable and there weren't that many activities for people who don't have 2 hands. She participated in bingo. She also went to a Bible study and listened to the preachers that would come. It was good but all the changes that were made became terrible real fast.
