TC goes above to meet personal and individual needs. My relative wasn’t a morning person so they allowed him to sleep in and adjusted his med times. Staff is very attentive and kind. TC provides lockers, outings, in and outside doctors and therapists. TC provides personalized care to many individuals that other facilities don’t care to deal with. It could use some decor updates but overall it’s very clean. The double rooms are small but they allow you the freedom to bring what you need, as long as it will fit, in order for you to feel as if it your home away from home. Food seems average to good. No one is starving and they even offer an alternative menu if you don’t care for what is being served at that meal. Snacks are also provided and a vending machine is available. Bingo seems to be a big hit and there is a list of monthly activities in and out of the facility. Church is offered, a hairdresser comes a few times a month and they offer doctors and therapist in or outside of the facility. For those that may have encountered residents with sticky fingers (don’t let me catch you!) lockers are provided if you purchase your own lock.

I went to look at the Tabor Commons. The rooms are overcrowded. There was a funky smell in the place, and they were serving food. I wasn't that impressed with the quality of the place. It seemed to have a lot of people with mental issues roaming the hallways, so I wouldn't want to put my brother in that kind of environment.

The Tabor Commons is reasonably close and they take Medicaid. Those are the two big reasons that we chose it for my relative. She's going to move in around May. It was clean and the staff seemed very friendly when I was there. They had a giant activities board. They take the residents out to the store and on various trips. They had an activities room, TV room, shower area, and a nice decent-sized outside area. It's assisted living but they can provide monitoring, they have wander-guards for people that have mild dementia.

We went to look at Tabor Commons. We were impressed because everybody there knew the people there personally. They call them by name. They were very attentive. The facility was very clean and smelled okay. They had like a social place and an outdoor place. It felt homier.

I did a tour of Tabor Commons. I guess it was OK. The only thing is that they weren't allowed visitation at the moment due to COVID. They had to go into the common area. But at the moment I think they are doing visitations, because it is in North Carolina, and they have different rules. They had shared rooms, but some of the rooms had a full bathroom. Some people had to share a bathroom with another room, and some had a toilet, but they had to go take showers down the hall. I wasn't too interested in that kind of set up. The rooms are a lot smaller than the place she's at now. The people are really nice there. I think the price was cheaper, but the rooms were a lot smaller. It was the TV room, where they said they do visitation, that was good. The dining room was OK.

I went to Tabor Commons. The staff was not as professional, you had to hound her down to see what her decision was. She was very indecisive when we got there. She never followed up with us after two promises of calling us back. The facility was clean, the appearance was nice, but the staff was unprofessional.

Tabor Commons was very bad. I wouldn't give it a good rating on anything. It was dirty. I wasn't pleased at all. I didn't like anything. The food was bad, too. They should clean it up and paint and make the staff dress well.

My visit at Tabor Commons was OK. The lady was very nice in showing us around. However, I did find that they didn't have as many staff members and it had the odor of an assisted living place. Overall, it needs some updating, and some more staff members. I saw a couple of ladies in the cafeteria, and some of these people were just sitting there and no one was assisting them. They just fed themselves. They have a full activity board, like church on Sundays, they play bingo, and there are different activities going on. The lady who gave us the tour was very helpful, and they even called us a couple of times.

The Tabor Commons was OK, but it was not a good fit for my mom. It was one-level, and there were a lot of people inside and outside the corridors. They have a smoking area. The only person I talked to said she wasnt a good fit, and she was busy.
