I put my friend at Jonas Ridge Adult Care, but she fell and they put her in the hospital and they didn't want her back. They said that they weren't able to help her because they're understaffed. So they're just scared to take her back. I was very pleased with the place and I love that it was small. I went around and met the people; I liked it. But they're scared that she wants to get out and she'll fall. But they were wonderful. If you want a place that's not too expensive in the future, I would recommend that place. I was pleased with it. What I like the most about this place are the size and the staff; they were genuinely concerned about their people. I like the cleanliness of the place, though the place is not beautiful by any stretch. They have a little living room and they have a nice little dining room for the 40 or 50 people that are there. They genuinely care and I can just feel it when I was walking through it. It's not a pretty place at all but the care is good. They didn't want my friend to return because they were worried about her care. They gather them for knitting if women are interested in that, or beading, or games if they're interested in that. They have a variety of things for the residents to do. They have a nice outside patio so they can get some sunlight.

The room is the size of a bathroom and they said he would get a larger room and he never did (it's been years now). They also said he would get a phone line (never did and cell does not pick up), no cable either. They said he would get an allowance out of his soc sec and he said he is not getting it. You can't reach anybody ever to find out what's going on.

I toured Jonas Ridge Adult Care. It was a little bit further than I expected. I think it was a little bit older than I expected. The place was a little bit dark for me, but that's just me personally. I guess the person in charge, the director, was very nice.

Jonas Ridge Adult Care was a nice little place. The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms were a little bit small than what I'm used to in a regular nursing home, but they were nice. There's nothing wrong with it. They're shared rooms. The dining area was nice. The place looked good. They had a living room to go in.

I did see a great deal of assisted living patients at Jonas Ridge Adult Care. The staff were very nice and the place was clean. The only thing that struck me was that it's just so dark; everything there's dark. The rooms were OK. There wasn't anything special about them, but they were clean. I only saw two staff working there, though they probably had more. When I got there right at 11:30, they didn't know I was coming; that was a little awkward. They should brighten it up because the place looked dreary. They didn't have things going on that I could see, but the staff said that they have games, music, and typical amenities. She didn't offer a calendar of events, and I didn't see one posted. She said that they do have events, and they have someone that comes in to do hair once a week. I just didn't see any. The staff were very nice. Even though she said she didn't have an appointment for me, she took the time to show me around. It's hard to disguise the smell of a place like that, but it wasn't offensive at all. There were only two staff members, but they were accommodating. They say it's assisted living, but most of the residents that were there were nursing home types of patients.

The person at Jonas Ridge Adult Care that was supposed to take us around was busy with paperwork that she needs to get done. She gave us another staff who took us around. But I wasn't enthused with this community although it's not a bad place. The person who took us around was nice and she was knowledgeable. It just kind of made me wonder why she handed the tour off to somebody else. It's not terrible, but all the doors to the bedrooms were closed in a long hall that was L-shaped. We didn't go into the bedrooms but we were shown the living area. There was nobody in their dining area, and I understand that they keep it locked up because it's right by the kitchen. I asked them when the last time they renovated and they said that they just put down that floor. The owner is the administrator, and this community has been in her family for years. Her parents started it and she really cares about the residents, she's a very caring person and they look after the residents. Everybody looked clean and neat, I just didn't see any interactions while I was there.

We placed my brother in Jonas Ridge. I loved it and its really nice. They really take good care of the patients. The serve really nutritious meals. There was one Sunday where they had baked ham, green beans, and baked sweet potato. They feed the patients really good. They go out for the people and they care a lot about them. It's the best facility my brother has been in so far. If he falls or gets a scratch, they don't hesitate to call to let you know. They're just wonderful. They have a lot of different activities for them and the people come in and sing and the patients love that.
