I was a resident here and my stay was nothing short of excellent. The staff are nice and friendly; however, the food could be better. Overall, I would return to this place. I have been to other places and this one is the best!

It would take 10 legal size pages to express how horrible this facility is! Let me preface this by giving praises to the rehab therapists! They are all wonderful & have state of the art equipment! However the “SKILLED NURSES” are horrible! DO NOT put a loved one here who can’t walk , elderly, & Or can’t take care of themselves! They are treated horribly! We had to stay every day 9am to 9 pm because she wasn’t cared for & treated with no respect & totally neglected! I wish I could go into detail about all that went on! You wouldn’t believe it! !!!!

I went several times to tour the Huntersville Health & Rehabilitation Center. The only thing is that it was hard to get in touch with their admissions office, so that was a struggle. The facility was really nice. It was spectacular, but I didn't see a whole lot of interacting people. It was really close to the house. I've been there so many times because the facility is absolutely spectacular. It has equipment almost like Gold Gym. I haven't seen as big of a rehab facility on the tours I've been on. There are so many treadmills, bikes, and things that look like they're simulated out of a car. They have this thing that I haven't seen anywhere else. It helps the person to be able to walk on sand at the beach, cobblestone, hardwood floors, and carpeting. It changes surfaces. Their rehab was just unbelievable. In their rooms, there was a glider and a big bed. You would think you're in a master bedroom. When you walked in there, there was a bathroom suite that two rooms share. The rooms are divided up, and they have their own separate doors. It was really nice. They had a library and a movie room. It was just really spectacular. They had an outdoor area that was a big center. It was locked, so that you can walk inside of that area on the outdoors and still be in a locked area in the middle of the building. You don't have to go outside the building. It was like an open area or courtyard. The staff has to actually swipe their card to get you in that courtyard, so I like that concept. The staff who took me around were very helpful. Their dinning area was pretty much a cafeteria style. There were two people at two separate tables eating. Everybody else was in the room eating.

My mom is at Huntersville Health & Rehab Center. A few of the staff that we met were good, but there are a few that weren't. The building got four or five halls, so everything is separated and I've only been in one area. It is a big open space and it is clean. It has more of a hospital atmosphere, but I think that's what it is and they are taking care of people here. They also have some exercise rooms where they do their therapy.

I’m so sad for choosing this facility based on a cost in 2019 for another family member. There is Zero communication unless you go to the facility directly. It can take up to six hours for a response. The excellence of care is based on the day week. I am frantically working on another option.

Upon arriving everyone seemed nice; the room was nice. Quickly went downhill and my husband requested something for heartburn and was ignored on two occasions overnight. The woman was rude to him and treated him like she could care less. Fortunately for him he had to be transferred to a hospital for immediate attention. So glad he is out of there! The food was not good so he didn't eat very much. Same woman called me the morning he needed attention and was ok on the phone but I could tell she wasn't thrilled with his requests. Done.

This facility was terrible. I was admitted to this rehab center to get physical therapy following a long stay in the hospital for a hepatic abscess. There were times I had to wait several hours to be changed. I was never moved/rotated unless I asked for it, and developed pressure (bed) sores. The food tray was slammed down onto my knees and the people in charge of taking care of me were in the hallway laughing as I was calling and my calls were ignored. The food had no daily selection. Everyone was served the same thing, often consisting of leftovers from the previous day. The meat was like rubber. The vegetables and fruit all came out of a can. Their billing messed up and sent me a bill for $496 for medications I received during my stay. It took several emails to get this billed to the facility, not me. Do not trust your family members to be taken care of here.

This facility was terrible. My mom was placed here after C spine surgery and the staff was abusive and negligent towards her. She sat for 2 hours without being changed or turned, she developed pressure (bed) sores, the food tray was slammed down onto her stomach and the people in charge of taking care of her were in the hallway laughing as she was calling and her calls were ignored. Do not trust your family members to be taken care of here. With covid they do not allow visitors so we were unable to see the extent of the negligence of this facility until my mom was taken to the hospital. I have called management and have yet to receive a call back. Anytime I called this facility to ask about my mom’s condition or how her day went I was on hold for over 10 minutes each time. If you care about your family members do not leave them here.

DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY HERE IF THEY CANNOT DO FOR THEMSELVES!! Do not send your loved one here if the have specific needs. Staff will not answer your call when needed or treat you like you're a bother. My mother was weak, couldn't walk or do anything without assistance. She was admitted here and died 6 days later. She had a lung condition however not close to death according to her pulmonologist. She rang the bell for help because her nose was bleeding, staff did not come to check on her so she called 911 herself, EMS transported her to Novant Huntersville hospital. They checked her at the hospital, ran tests and released her back to rehab where she died 8 hrs later. I asked what happened and was told she was found unresponsive in her room. Did anyone check on her? Did she call for help again and no one came? Did she fall?? What happened, I'll never know.. My mother died alone and helpless. Left message for administrator to call me back...no call

My father is in Huntersville Health & Rehabilitation Center for rehab. It's a good place. He had been there before and the staff makes sure that all our wishes are met. They have different things going on. I like the food there. The value is 100% because they're taking good care of him. The location is great.
