My review is simple a note of great appreciation for all of persons who are part of Universal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center: Dear Jennifer, First, I hope and pray that this note finds all of you staying safe and healthy. This is just a brief note to THANK YOU personally, Jennifer, and to thank every member of the Staff, every Administrator, and every Care-giver from Universal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. All of you have been an essential part of my healing. Therefore, I would to like to celebrate my healing and recovery with each one of you, because it was only possible by the grace of God and the kind and valuable care from Universal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. This facility needs to be shut down. The staff is either smoking, even though there are no smoking signs all over the place or on their cell phones instead of caring for the residents. The rooms are dirty and the facility smells. There is no menu for the residents to follow, you ask the kitchen staff what is being served that day and they don’t know!!!! They don’t treat the residents with respect or compassion. I would not put anyone here.

Admission & Financial staff were very caring.Along with most of the Nursing staff,(you could tell who was there because they cared and the ones that needed a paycheck). Dietary left alot to be desired and need to listen to resident. Don't keep giving them what they won't eat. Change the menu up. Housekeeping needs to learn how to clean, it is more then emptying trash and a couple of swipes on the floor. The staff in charge of various dept. are two faced.(not trust worthy). Contract doesn't mean anything to them waste of paper, ink, and time. My spouse was here for a bit. No matter where your loved one is take time out of your schedule to spend some time with them.Love and advocate for them.

Dirty tooms. Uncaring staff. Unreliable schedule (meals sometimes hours late. medications not given on time, sometimes not even given correctely). Amenities? What's that. The nurses don't even wear name tags, if that tells you anything. A nightmare experience for my mother... Don't take your loved one here.

I am in Baltimore, but my son's sister suffered a brain anyuerism, and is recovering. She was sent there from the hospital, because her insurance was limited, and the hospital needed her to go to a step up program, to assist her with getting better, to come home. Unfortunately, it was the worst decision to send her there. She is not receiving any therapy, attention, or the services that she needs to get better, unless better is helping yourself to rehab. We are working to get her out of there before her 30 days. Sadd but true, that all healthcare is not good care.

Went to this facility today to do paperwork for a family member that arrived at this facility and when I got in the building the first two things I witnessed was one was the awful smell and second was a staff member arguing with a resident.

The building is old, staff mediocre, plumbing a major disappointment. Average response time on a call from a patient averages 24 minutes. Professional staff seems dedicated and cheerful. Due to COVID-19 the lockdown is alarming to new patients. No real orientation to new patients on what is available, and no one seems to know the answers.

The rooms are filthy at all times. If you call for help, no response. I sat there in my brother's room pre covid, he rang for help before I came, after I arrived and I sat there for over an hour, I called and told them I was there when he called the second time and we were waiting for over an hour, they then came in, angry that they were bothered. So much goes wrong here. Food is terrible, Nurses report untruth. Molded frood and food served intake with insects. Very dissatisfied with the treatment. After Covid, CNA with Covid work knowing the risk level of the patients. Just a sad place with no care or concern for the residents. Run!!!!!!! If I could give a -100 I would.

Rooms not clean. My family member has had repeated incidents of undocumented Health issues that were sometimes untreated until severe. Incidents of injuries were sometimes not taken seriously. Family had to take resident for ER checkup. Not sure if documented.

My mother is in Universal Health Care & Rehab. Some of them are real nice and real sweet, and some of them are dispiteous. The location is good. However, she can't take rehabilitation anymore. I would like for them to come get her and take her out of her room to an activity room. I would like for them to come in the room and check on her. Their food is pretty good.

I have a loved one at Universal Health Care in Concord, NC. Overall I am very pleased with the care she receives especially from one of the nurses. She is always smiling and tells the resident how much she loves them and it really shows with the care she gives them. I have been there when she is giving out medications in the mornings and she has residents around her especially the ones that are confused. The Administrator and the Admissions people could use some personality classes. The activities are almost non existing, not much to keep the resident entertained. The building is very old and could use some new plumbing and heating units but it is safe.

The nursing and rehab staff were very nice. One particular nurse was excellent with my loved one considering his level of confusion and paranoia due to his diagnosis. The place smelled of urine every time I visited. My loved one was admitted to a filthy room. The floor and furniture were visibly dirty. I cleaned the bed and furniture myself with Lysol wipes as much as possible. I was disgusted when I removed what I believe was bm from the bedrails!. So just be sure that the room is cleaned beforehand. Also the matress. Other than that and the place being a little dark it was ok. The residents appeared to be content.

My sister is at Universal in Concord, North Carolina. We were referred by her doctor and the people at the hospital. My father visited, and he liked it, so he chose it for her. We've been happy with it. They've given her good care, and she is getting rehab. We haven't had any problems at all. The staff has been good. She is in a single room, which is basic, with a hospital style bed, but it's a large room, and it's comfortable. It's a good place. She has been there about six weeks now.

My dad is at the Universal Healthcare. It is pretty good, and I like it. They take really good care of him. For now he is independent because he can do a lot of things on his own, but he has dementia and they make sure he has his right medicine. I love the community and the surroundings. The staff was fine. They keep me informed on the very things that goes on and everything that they do. I have a meeting with them to go over with the details and everything on how my dad's treatment is coming along. We used to meet at least once a month or once every other month.

I found out about Universal Healthcare through a referral. It was clean and the staff were efficient and very friendly. It was a wonderful place. They need to have more funding, then they could update the place.

It's a hard decision to place a loved one into a nursing home facility, however, I feel that my mother-in-law's quality of life improved once she was moved into Universal Healthcare. She has Alzheimers and had been living at home with my father-in-law. Her diet was poor and she was a hoarder which contributed to bad living conditions. Once her doctor placed her into Universal, she started eating 3 square meals a day. She also had the facility to walk around to get some exercise. The staff has been very caring and patient with her. The employee turnover is high but I think that is normal for the industry. I would recommend this nursing home to anymore that has a relative with Alzheimers or has to go into a nursing facility.

Out of all the centers I have visited Universal is the most careing and a very clean facility. A lot of times when sick people have to stay in the hospital (rehab / health care facility) for a while they want to feel at home and want intertainment, Universal gives patients activities and parties to lift their spirits. My mother always enjoy it when she goes. I always see the life that it gives the patiences. My mother is 82 years old and has been there 4 times for rehab.
