My husband is in Wickshire Steele Creek. My first impression was it was not a warm, welcoming, and safe feeling, it was just sort of lukewarm. There isn't any plush furniture and carpeting on the floor which would have made me feel more at home and at ease. His room isn't always cleaned, I go in there and there are things on the floor that they've never picked up. But that was just his room, the hallways and everything else seemed to be clean. Some staff members go the extra mile. They'll go in the morning and make his bed, and when the weather's nice, they'll open up his window. Other times I go in there, his bed isn't made, and some of the covers and on the floor. They have a couple of therapists working with him. They also have a TV room. At the end of the building, there's an outside area but they can't get through there unless somebody's escorting them. He enjoys the food, I'd like him to have more because he's always hungry but that's not happening.

My brother moved into Wickshire Steele Creek but it is not what it intended to be. I would not recommend them. They have a consistent turnaround. They've had like 3 executive directors in the last 4 months. My brother sustained a fall since he's been there. They're not attentive and I'm just not satisfied. If I had to do it all over and knew what I know now, I never would have put him in there. The food is not tasteful and they get small portions. They don't have bottled water. They give them water in cups. I had to purchase a bed for him. Housekeeping is not sufficient, but I would say that the dining room is clean. My purpose for putting him there is that they would be able to stimulate him to do things, but that has not happened. They have a van, but the last I heard it was not in operation.

The staff at the Wickshire Steele Creek who cared for my father in memory care were excellent. The issues we had were with the executive director and a complete lack of responsiveness and attention to family concerns around billing. My father was a veteran, yet the Wickshire never acknowledged their veteran's discount clearly outlined on their website. He lived there for 1.5 years. Upon his passing 3 weeks ago, I expected to hear from the executive director, and I have not heard from anyone at the facility. Our experience at two other facilities in Charlotte were great. I do not recommend the Wickshire at Steele Creek.

I visited, and the establishment was very, very clean. The people were very knowledgeable and very professional, and I appreciated the way that I was treated as I went on the tour. The room was a good, average room, they supplied a television, and it had a handicap-accessible bathroom.

It seems to be very organized and clean, and has a friendly atmosphere. The staff seems to be friendly and the person who gave us the tour was good. I like the layout of the place since it's not too large nor too small and manageable for the residents.

We liked it the most. It was pretty impressive. What I liked best was that it was modern and new. The staff seemed knowledgeable. The place was definitely clean. I met some of the staff, and the person at the front desk was very helpful.

They are very nice and work hard. I furnished the rooms myself for my husband. The community is clean. The food sometimes is good and sometimes not. They have crafts, bingo and they do some outings. I like the facility.

We choose it because it is the best one that suits our father-in-law's needs. The location, the staff, just everything -- this is one is just perfect. It has a homey feeling. He loves the food. It is excellent. He met some very nice people there and made plenty of friends. The staff is great. His room is great. He fell on his bed one time, and they were there to get him, take him, and did everything they need to do. They are right on top of things. I know they have a bunch of activities; however, my father-in-law just doesn't do it.

We already have a place for my husband which is here. Everything is great. It is very homey, and everybody is really personable. It is near CMC-Steel Creek, and there is an emergency care center right up the street. They have other services available there, but we are in the memory care section.
