I had an aunt who lived at Clapp's Mountain Top Living. She was in the independent living. She had a two-bedroom apartment there with a little patio outside. It was quite nice. The staff seemed nice enough. She got good care while she was there. The dining facility was quite nice. Her room was a very nice setup. It had a small but efficient kitchen, two bedrooms, and a living area. I ate there, and the food was good. It was a good value.

We toured Clapp's Mountain Top Living. They do one meal a day. The two-bedroom apartment was very nice. My aunt was a little shocked to how small they were, but she's used to having a house. The two-bedroom had a full washer and dryer, which she liked. The kitchen area was nicely designed to have food utilities, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a microwave, a stove, and a refrigerator. Another nice thing is they had a little sunroom off the living room there. The staff was very friendly and very open. They showed us the different rooms. They're very helpful and answered all our questions. We looked at the menu and the menu was very good. The facility looked fairly new and everything was nice, clean, and well-kept. All the other public rooms or common rooms were very nice. The dining area was very nicely done. It had nice tables, linen, and all that. It was large enough for people in wheelchairs to get around. It wasn't so compact. It's one of the very best-priced ones for everything I get. It's like $2500 for a two-bedroom.

I will be moving into Clapp's Mountain Top Living. The price is the big thing. I will have two bedrooms, living room, sunroom, and walk-in shower. Their prices are much better. They furnish all the utilities except for phone. They are dog and pet friendly. The people there were just real friendly and it was not like a nursing home. I didn't try the food, but I get one meal a day if I want it. The other beautiful thing about this place is I have a fully furnished kitchen. They pay all of your utilities, heat, water, TV, and basic cable. They clean your apartment once a week. They have transportation to and from doctors or churches or whatever you choose to do if you need that. They have an all-purpose room and you can go there and read, or people can play games or whatever. I saw a couple of people who live there and they were very young at heart, nicely dressed, talking, and very friendly. There was only one downside at all the facilities that I saw, that very few of them have openings on the first floor. I have a pet and it would be great if you had a place on the first floor, even like little patio homes or something like that. There was an elevator. You can get up and down, but at 9:00 at night, you don't feel like getting dressed if you're in bed to take a dog out. The facility was very clean. All of the necessities are there. They have washer and dryer, all the kitchen accessories, dishwasher included.

We are a resident at Clapp's Mountain Top Living. The dining room is a formal dining room with light linen tablecloths, black linen napkins, flowers, and candles on the table. The staff is very efficient. We are in a two-bedroom, and we have a full kitchen with a washer and dryer in it. They have bingo on Tuesday nights, they have exercise classes three times a week in the afternoon, and they have trips to the bank and to the grocery stores available for you. They took us to vote the other day in the van. They have crafts classes, and I've been in one class already. They'll be bringing us to the zoo next week. There's always something going on here.

First off, Clapp's Mountain Top Living had a full kitchen in each of the apartments. They also offered a solarium in each unit, which was a glassed-in sitting room. It was really just laid out perfectly. It is independently owned and operated as well, so they are flexible in furnishing and that type of thing, and they also had pretty good connections for medical facilities since it's close to Greensboro at the North and Charlotte to the South. The staff members were just great. I know some people who are staying there, and they are completely satisfied as far as I can tell.
