I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was a resident of Montgomery Nursing Home. The care was very attentive. It was much older, but they were very hands on and supportive. I think that the level of care was very good. However, they could probably use some modernization like fresh paint. They did some nice activities. They were attentive, and it was everything you want in terms of attention. They had different things for them to socialize, but that was before Covid. I can't speak to anything else. She was there for a rehabilitative program and was there for about four or five months. They had a nice dining hall. They had people come in and do activities with them. They had an outdoor courtyard. I know they had a separate recreation room that they use for things. They did singing, games, and hangman with them. They had people come in and sing with a guitar, and that kind of stuff. Ninety percent of the staff was accommodating and helpful. There were one or two that were a little abrupt, short, and didn't follow up with things. There was a time when she was having an X-ray done or something. I don't know if it was for her heart, and we were waiting on that. I don't remember exactly, but I just know we had one or two difficult people. For the most part, they were wonderful, but I think you get that anywhere.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom stayed at Montgomery Nursing Home and the people there were very good. The only problem I had in there was that that place needed an update as far the surroundings. When I first walked in there, it was very gloomy. They did have a lot of nice activities for the people. The food was very good, and the dining hall was very nice. The people living there were very friendly as well as the staff. They checked in with my mom; they knew we were worried about her because she had the flu. They were checking on her, and they reassured us. The staff was really good. The only problem I have with them is the aesthetics, if you want to call it that. There was a garden area, but there was nothing growing. It could have been more pleasant looking for people, but it looked like it was just let go. They were busy, I know, but I thought that as far as appearances they could have maybe been updated a little bit more. The only other problem we had, besides the aesthetic, was at one point we were not sure if my mom had or did not have pneumonia because we were getting mixed messages from two different nurses at that time, and we were very confused about that. One time they said she had a small pneumonia, and we did not even know what that meant, because pneumonia is pneumonia. Then the next day someone said she did not have pneumonia. So, it was conflicting messages from two of the nurses. It was just that and the aesthetics, but everything else was very good. They were very good in looking after my mom. The room was comfortable. It had windows, the bathroom was modern, and it looked nice. I would not say it was great, but it was good. It had a comfortable chair, a TV, and a dresser. The rehab I thought was very good, they gave her rehabilitation as far as getting stronger to walk. They also gave her speech therapy where they would give her a little paragraph to read and go over it with her to see how much she remembered. They did the clock test to check for Alzheimer's and memory problem. She nailed the clock test. It's where they give them a circle and they have to fill in the numbers and the clock hands. They did speech therapy and physical therapy. They had a hair salon where they took her for her hair to be done and her nails got done. They brought in a therapy dog, which was nice. We were able to stay there as long as we wanted to. They had a secure door so if you wanted to come in and out you hit a code to get in. As far as the activities for the people there, they had so much entertainment. They had a main hallway where they could watch movies or have people sing. During St Patrick's day they had a lady that came in to sing and you could see it was really making the people very happy. My mom was actually singing along. It was really nice to see that. It's a beautiful area and you will have no problem parking at all. I just thought that as far as visuals, it could have been a bit more cheery, if that's the right term to use. Like pictures on the walls or the paint, it could have been a little bit better.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I placed my mother at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab because she needed therapy for her fractured hip. the nursing staff are excellent. They always attended to my mom's needs and I often saw they treat all the patients there like family.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Montgomery Nursing home is a great place for people to stay at and live. My grandpa receives excellent care and has been there for many years with no problems. The staff is always very helpful and kind. Whenever I go there the facility is always very clean and the staff always greet me. My grandpa says the staff and other residents are like family to him. He relies very heavily on the staff as he is disabled and can't walk. My grandpa is very happy there and will live the rest of his life there. Whenever there is a problem, they call me immediately. All the residents look happy when I visit Montgomery Nursing. I am very happy with the care my grandpa receives and the level of professionalism the staff provide. It's amazing to see that people actually care and are willing to do whatever possible to make sure the residents are happy and well taken care of. This is the best nursing home in the region.
